I actually thought Anthony was potentially quite good but for that injury - he shouldn't have competed this year. Also I don't think there were any race issues and Oti seems to have made a very positive impact, let's hope she is there next year and gets a contender. Actually I think she will stay if she wants to because the BBC will want a black pro and why not ? (and that's coming from a UKIP member !)
If you are going to be average or good average you need a fan base and Anthony doesn't have that. |

Managed to get the link to post think he is going to struggle to argue that he is being taken out of context. Just coming across as very bitter, spoiled and entitled and with a higher opinion of his dancing skills. |

I don't think celebs with injuries should be allowed to compete. Surely the Beeb had a standby. He was obviously not fully fit so why let him compete?

Darcey Bussell was the only judge to speak to Ogogo after he was voted out following the dance off against Ainsley Harriott and Natalie Lowe.
She told him he was far too good to be leaving in the third week. “The three blokes just buggered off!” he revlead. [sic] “Didn’t say bye or anything. I’d take on all three of them – get Len, Craig and Bruno in the ring and I’ll take them all on together.” |

Not had a chance to watch this yet, but it may be of interest as he has just put it up on YouTube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye8KTCQlnL0 Looks like it covers a fair bit of boxing as well as Strictly in the 20 minute interview! |

To emphasize what I said earlier, if you make a good Paso shape you don't look like a boxer, so you are not acting the movie role. You won't look like Rocky ever, not in a million years. If you act like a boxer then you are not making Paso shapes. The weight balance and posture is completely different. A pro dancer can probably hide that by switching between the two but beginner celebs shouldn't be given that handicap.
Cowboys don't look like or act like matadors. Pirates don't look like or act like matadors (although Jack Sparrow is admittedly close). Boxers don't look like or act like matadors. Why can't the producers understand this? |

Presumably with a sign stuck on it saying "punch here" |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye8KTCQlnL0 Looks like it covers a fair bit of boxing as well as Strictly in the 20 minute interview! Basically his agent was first approached maybe April 2015 about the possibility of him doing SCD. At the time he was recovering from a long term Achilles injury. He had his first fight in July 2015 after about a year out with injury. In the second round of that fight he dislocated his whole shoulder but it popped back in. He managed to win the fight on points but he was left with a shoulder injury that the doctors said would take 6 months to recover from (after having an operation). The SCD execs were still keen on him to join the show even though he thought it was a ridiculous idea. They managed to sell it to him using various arguments and he also needed the money as he had only had one fight in 18 months. The doctors apparently told him he would probably be able to start using his shoulder perhaps a quarter to midway into the SCD show - so during the early rounds he intended to protect it. He was saying he could focus on his foot movements and that he didn't need to use his arm so much as it wasn't like boxing: so the plan was to protect his shoulder in the early stages - and in the mid to latter stages his shoulder would be better to begin to use. He was fairly open about it all. It was clear he was in a particularly low point in his life because of all the injuries. The take home message was the SCD execs knew about his shoulder injury, he didn't think it was possible to take part but was persuaded otherwise by them & also by his doctors that suggested he would be able to start using his shoulder again as SCD progressed. Plus he was short of money. Since the execs / producers knew about his shoulder injury then maybe he might have expected a little more support from them (although I wouldn't know what sort of support he would have expected). Maybe he would have been surprised by the harsh comments of the judges given they would have had knowledge of his shoulder problem. |

Yeah, I don't like.his comments about not having a fan based either, rubbish! If you look at Past winners, Darren Gough, Mark Ramprakash, Abbey Clancy, Alesha, as well as people who'very done well (who would'very thought John Sargent would turn out to be the star of that series on paper) All of them would have had small fan bases to start with, it's how you progress and impress the audience that determines your success in Strictly, it's for the exact same reason I'might pretty sure Peter Andre won't win
Oti may be new with no fan base herself, but she had the best relationship with her celeb of all pros so far this year, which helps enormously. I was tempted to vote for him as I tend to not vote for the ones on the top of the leaderboard in the early weeks and actually voted for him last week. I didn't vote for him this week as that shoulder is just too bad to be put through more if he wants to have a good recovery. I suspect I'm not alone. |

It does sound as if the producers might have given the impression that the judges would cut him some slack in the early weeks of Strictly. Of course, we don't know if that was true, or whether Anthony got the wrong impression.
I did think it was peculiar that none of the judges mentioned his arm injury again after week one, it was clear he was favouring his left arm throughout. They maybe could have made some small allowance for his injury, after all in the past they've made allowances for people being too fat.

He may not have a huge fan base to carry him to the final but decent dancers usually get through several rounds. He's seems a pleasant enough guy but not much of a dancer, at this stage, and carrying the injury didn't help I'm sure.

Anthony Should be quiet 😟 He is out of the competition because he danced
the worst 😕 and he danced the worst as he has a bad shoulder and can't do much with his right arm.... Don't think he should have been in the competition as he cant even use his arm to brush his teeth.. How did he expect to go further baffles me 😀 And Jay Is superb and hope he wins 😄😄😄 |

"I actually had a feeling that yesterday's song choice wasn't the best," he said. "I'm a boxer, it's Movie Week, let's do Rocky – I do get it.
"But at 6.30 on a Saturday evening, it's a family show and there's me with a sour face in front of the camera. It looks quite aggressive. But that's the routine the production wanted us to have. "I'm a big James Bond fan, I'd have much rather have done a James Bond number or a Disney number, something family-orientated. But production were very adamant that I had to do this". I do agree with him on the above . I hated that so called boxing paso but guessed it was the producers idea . If Anthony knew anything about SCD he would know those producers love to emphasis the bleeding obvious for all the celebs . We had Michael Vaughan wielding a cricket bat during one dance, a rugby ball introduced for a rugby player etc. |

Did anyone else notice the muscle wastage on his right arm.. Either he's had that injury for about 6 months or he's on... "Chemical assistance,"

I agree with this. Also, while he seems like a really nice guy, he's not a charismatic charmer. That's why Jeremy is liked. I doubt being a BBC radio personality would keep him in without his personality and his partnership with Karen.
As for wanting a Disney or family number, it didn't do Ainsley much good did it and he has a really popular pro! Anthony couldn't hold Oti properly or do any lifts no matter what "theme" or dance he did and he should realise that. If the Strictly bosses persuaded him and gave him false hope they'd make allowances then I do have sympathy for him though. |

He got it right, if you do not perform well, you or your partner have to be popular, But that would be difficult, because it's usually male pros that have a following. If only they went for that first same sex pairing
It was a pity he had an injury and could not throw himself fully into it. It just looked awkward avoiding one arm.
