I did not realise SCD was a platform for hasbeens, but even if it is, I think it's still nice to see people learning to dance.
I think a lot of celebs do Strictly because it's something they really want to do as oppose to needing to do it. For many learning to dance with a professional, getting the chance to dress up in something glamorous and then performing with a live band every Saturday night is an amazing opportunity. They get bigger names than the likes of I'm a Celebrity... and CBB. I'm not saying the career boost isn't welcome for some but I don't think it's the primary focus for all of them.

I have met Will and he is really nice and friendly. We chatted about the Isle of Wight and the play he was in (The Vortex). I suppose it depends upon how you approach him.

I've loved him since the first time I saw him and heard him sing

The song he sang last night is indeed a grower. I wasn't keen on it at first but I love it now, it makes me feel happy and the tone in his voice on the album gives me tingles

I'm a long term fan of Will, and in his second biography you got a real sense that Will's a highly talented but complex and sensitive chap who has had to fight his depressive demons regularly. Consequently he would often struggle and have to push himself to even get up and out and "perform and record." He's naturally quiet and more private, so I think is happier writing his music, than perhaps coping with the whole public, fame side of things.

I thought that sensitivity came over in his acting and loved seeing a different side to him in Mrs. Henderson Presents. Which he reminded me of last night, when he started dancing, which I don't think any other singing guest has done before?
I vaguely recall one or two guests doing something similar - Girls Aloud, I think, involved the male dancers pairing with each of them in a performance, but I'd struggle to call it actual dancing, more 'posing and doing one or two basic moves with a twirling pro dancer'! Not to detract from Will - who is actually a lovely mover - but that wasn't really dancing either last night. I saw him in Caberet, and he has a real balletic vibe to his movements. I suspect he either did a lot of ballet leading up to his Cabaret role, or he had done so in his arts education somewhere.

Anyway, good to see Will back on the music scene, his music is always such high quality, plus sensitively and intelligently written. There's not many you can say that about!

A bit of both I reckon. He certainly did a dance class or several at ArtsEd but was only there for a short while before winning Pop Idol. As I said up-thread, he regularly does a ballet class.

Quite a few dancers I have worked with went to ArtsEd. It produced much better all round dancers than many of those regional stage schools. All of them did extra dance classes as well as their course work. It's a great school.

Not surprising Will kept up the dancing. Thanks for all your insider info Gill. I am so glad he is flourishing. He is such a nice guy.

Good dancer, nice moves on stage. One day I hope Will learns to sing properly instead of squeaking into a powerful mike.

I enjoyed Will's performance on the results show, and loved the way he interacted with the pros. He seemed to really enjoy it too. He even did a cameo bit at the start of ITT too!
I voted for Will all those years ago in Pop Idol and glad that he's done so well.

I loved Will's performance too RoseAnne, but I kept getting distracted by his trousers, something didn't seem right, but I'm not sure what.
