I think Ainsley and Anita have the best songs, and Kellie, Daniel and Jamelia will be somewhere between very good and safe. I'm disappointed with both quickstep choices, and good grief for Kirsty, how is that a paso? I'm not sure about Blue Monday, I suppose it depends what the band do with it.

Some great music in there, love the traditional Paso for Carol and Pasha but a bit confused by the U2 track for Kirsty and Brendan. Blue Monday is fabulous, one of my favourite songs; I would never have thought of it for a tango and really hope it works. If Peter can have New Order then there's hope Jeremy will get some Morrissey yet!

They are going to use Tanghetto's cover version of new order aren't they? In the same way Martynas Levickis's version of telephone was used but not credited. |

Well if Carol can't do a Paso to that music then she really should go home! I'd dream of doing that on Strictly!
At the other end of the spectrum, poor Kirsty what a dreadful song selection, that's not going to help at all, the bottom two beckons I think. Looking forward to Anita's salsa to the Shakira track. |

Don't like at all My generation. I can't see it as quickstep in all honesty.
All the others are quite good.

Poor Espana Cani, though. Once upon a time used for Jill Halfpenny, Austin Healey and Ricky Whittle... now it can only find work with Fern Britton and Carol Kirkwood. That's the real tragedy here, guys.

I love U2 Beautiful Day as a song as it is one of U2's very few later realeased tracks which came out mid way through my high school years when I was in year 9 so for me more memorable than some of their earlier songs, but do agree hardly a Paso song choice.

No, I don't see it as a QS at all?
It doesn't have any swing, QQS phrasing, and feels heavy and down into the ground. |

When I saw Blue Monday as a choice for Tango I thought
![]() ![]() ![]() but now I know it's a different, tangofied arrangement, it will work fine. Now please someone tell me Jay & Aliona have a special skippity arrangement of My Generation for their QS otherwise that is just ![]() ![]()

I'm predicting Anton and Katie to be the most improved couple week-on-week. No reason why this can't be a 30 or more for them. If they can't hit the mark with this, I'd rule them out as potential finalists.
I'm particuarly looking forward to Anita's dance - should be right up her street. And I'd like Ainsley to do well, because he's got a perfect song choice. Other than that great song choices all round - couple of possible disasters but nothing that'll be boring. Just for fun, a leadership board prediction, based on pre-conceptions of the routine and the strengths of the remaining competitors: Jay 34 Anita 33 Katie 32 Kellie 32 Helen 32 Peter 31 Georgia 28 Daniel 27 Ainsley 26 Jamelia 26 Kirsty 24 Jeremy 23 Carol 20 |

Right to all you Jay and Aliona hand wringers here is a Quickstep performed on DWTS Australia. Yeah the guy is not as talented as Jay but it really works

Mat and Ash Leigh Quickstep to My Generation by The Who I was just wondering earlier who will be the first person to fly, and I thought has to be Daniel, and then I thought: 'Fly me to the Moon'... |

Thanks for that, it's really interesting to see. Not sure it does work though. I think the thing for me is that it doesn't look natural to go into ballroom hold for that music, that isn't the sort of dancing it was meant for, and it makes the hold look odd and stiff (jmo). I like something lighter and frothier. I think this music means they'll have to do a quickstep that will simply be 'look how quick we can do this', rather than something that really gets the spirit of the dance. I'm not just being a Jay hand-wringer (maybe a bit) - I think Georgia's quickstep music is equally dodgy. And neither song is as bad as Kirsty's.

Mat and Ash Leigh Quickstep to My Generation by The Who Thanks for the video but that's made it a million times worse, that's a "barely even medium pace" step ![]() , Carole went quicker than that. Horrible song, horrible arrangement, horrible dancing & definitely not flipping quick. But now at least it's hugely lowered my expectations to the point I'm dreading it 😁*sits in chair waiting anxiously for Ian's training bit on ITT ![]()

It is a pity when a real, traditional song is squandered on a celeb who is destined to destroy a dance.
