How much The pro influences your voice of favourite?

I don't really have a favourite pro on the show right now so I vote on partnerships and who I like of the celebs although while Flavia was on the show, I always voted for her and her partner

This year I think Jay will win but really wish he was partnered with someone other than Aliona as I really don't think she deserves another win tbh.
She is doing a brilliant job with Jay like she usually does with anyone with a bit of talent but with non contenders she doesn't strike me as being much interested in them and IMO part of the pro's job is to make sure their celeb has the best experience possible whether they can dance or not. I might be wrong but haven't one or two of her 'non-contender' celebs actually said that they wished they hadn't been partnered with her? Not a sign of a good pro in my mind.

If any pro is going to win twice then I'd prefer it to be Aljaz. He's been good with all his celebs (so far)

The pro only influences me if their celeb partner is someone I'm indifferent towards. Sometimes a pro, like Anton this year and Aljaz last year, win me round because of their celeb relationship. Other times a favoured celeb, Sophie E-B, is partnered with a pro I dislike and it spoils my viewing of the celeb.

I like good dancing couples, so I can easily support a couple that are a better dancing combination regardless of whether one of my fav pros is in that couple or if the celeb is someone I like (usually anyway).

My favourite pro is Natalie, but I can separate my liking her as an individual dancer when it comes to who she is partnered with, celeb wise. If she has a Tim, Audley, Michael or Ainsley partner, I support other better dancing couples that year and just enjoy watching her in pro routines. When she has a Ricky or Scott partner, then it's great because I can root for her as well as the partnership. First and foremost I enjoy seeing dancing that excites and moves me, so regardless of what pro I like, the combined talent of a dancing pro and celeb pair rules for me, otherwise I just find it difficult to enjoy the dancing if the only talent is in the pro.

Pretty much how I see it too.

BIB I don't know who it was probably Greg after being voted off first? Or was it Rav Wilding, on her first year who made some comments like the ones that Antiny has supposedly made (which I don't believe he has) "Aliona was a new pro and she didn't know what she was doing..."
I seem to recall Tony Jacklin and Aliona became quite good friends actually so I doubt it was him.

When they get a celeb that can't dance (Hi, Carol!) they will obviously be voted out early/mid competition. Then, when it gets to the final, it is a combination of which pro/celeb I like more of all the remaining couples.”

I will join you on that; I have voted for Pasha every year, and it happens that he's never had a partner I didn't like either. In Rachel's case I knew she would be voted out eventually, same as Carol, but am happy to vote for them because of how much they loved being part of the show. I was chuffed he won with Caroline last year. That said, two pros I'm not pushed on are Kevin and Karen, but I'm overlooking my disinterest in Karen to vote for Jeremy too because he's just chucking himself at the dances and is so entertaining, I love that.

Agree about Aliona, Jay is wonderful but I'd rather he had another partner because of how Aliona has been with some of her less capable partners. She had a face like a slapped backside when she found out she had been partnered with Gregg Wallace. I thought that was so ungracious, even re-tweeting comments about how she deserved a better partner. That was out of order. Indeed it is part of the pro's job to help their partner have a great experience on the show. Whether they are a potential winner or not.

I thought Aliona got on with her job with Greg and did two good routines and they got on ok. I actually looked the other day on his twitter to see if he left a comment about the jive but he doesn't follow Aliona anymore or any of the other pro's, he only follows Zoe and Claudia(fellow BBC presenters) perhaps he didn't enjoy his time on Strictly.
As for Jonny they didn't have a lot of time together as Aliona got injured, but Jonny says on YT that he has a soft spot for Aliona as she is a very good teacher.
Tony and Aliona got on well and are still friends, Aliona went to his birthday party in Florida.
Strictly The Peoples Michael Pattie also praised Aliona saying she's strict teacher but then she goes back to being bubbly Aliona. They met up recently at an awards ceremony and Michael was made up that Aliona ran over to see him and his wife with half the strictly cast.
Anyway sorry for waffling bottom line I like Aliona

Gregg Wallace was a dirty old man with Aliona, she had every right to dislike him intensely.

I don't think I've ever voted for the pro. I don't really watch the pro unless they are standing in front of their celeb, or they are the only ones on camera while their celeb is getting out of flying harness. I think they're all great, but I don't have a favourite.

But if Katie and Anton could be as good as their tango every week, I can see the appeal of Anton getting to the final after all this time and might give them a vote or two. But only if they are good.

Aliona in my opinion gets the best out of any talented celebrity.

I always thought Louis would win Strictly whoever he was paired with, and nothing he did really excited me until he danced with Aliona in the Xmas special.

I think any Celeb male who is talented would wish forAliona. There are no better hands to be in.

I adore Aliona and whilst I would never have voted for Greg, Tony orJonny I wouldn't have wanted them to exit so early forAliona's sake.

I've always liked DVO but didn't like her pairing with James so wouldn't support them. Likewise Lisa Snowden didn't get on with her and Brendan as a pair.

This year I wanted Jay to do well for Aliona but now I think having seen him, I'd love him whoever he was with.

BIB
Actually it was one, and she did say nice things about Gregg towards the end of their time together..

She got on well with Rav, Matt Baker, Harry, Johnny, Fabrice, Matt Goss, Tony, Louis, Michael, and now Jay.

I like nearly everyone anyway, but tend to support a mix of pros and celebs.

Lilia, Flavia, Ola, Natalie, Aliona (there's a theme there )
Also Vincent, Matthew Cutler, Ian, Artem, Aljaz.

Celebs:
There are just too many to list, but Matt Baker, Harry Judd, Rachel Stevens, Chelsee, Matt D'Angelo, Louis Smith, Jade, are some of the top ones.

Well, who wouldn't have a face like a slapped arse in that situation? I know I would *sorry*

For those who didn't see the show.

She started off very cold with Gregg in training, but I think Gregg behaved as she wanted and they were much warmer together by the end of the show.

Seriously now, I think she was quite graceful with Gregg, more than I ever would. But I suppose what people remember from last year is the moment when Tess called Aliona's name, she buried her face in her hands and said something like "Oh, my God". I love Aliona but agree that wasn't her finest hour. I agree with you in the sense they developed a good partnership and looked more relaxed with each other at the end.

Aliona's reaction is at 11:55 in this.

A bit of interaction in training.

To be honest I am not absolutely sure why I vote for someone sometimes! I just feel I have to vote for a particular person, but it is mostly because I enjoyed their dance, perhaps because it was good or just plain enjoyable albeit actually not too good.

I really like Aliona's choreography so I suppose I have frequently voted for her and her partner because I enjoyed the dance. Generally I am pretty varied in how I vote, although if I do not like something about the celeb, which is usually related to attitude, I cannot bring myself to vote for them.

The pro's affect me for about the first two weeks, but after that it's the dance and/or the celeb I root for.

As just two examples, I loved Iveta but couldn't be bothered about Thom Evans. Never liked James Jordan, but loved Pamela Stephenson.
