Anyone notice what's happening in the background or what's said quietly?

Brendan peering over Pasha's shoulder to see which bits of body parts he was made of

Tristan laughing with Brendan.

Gleb going 'woo' first to the bogyman at the bottom of stairs

On ITT last night both Aljaz and Anton were nice to the little girls.

I think it was when Peter Andre was saying the judges know what they are talking about I am sure I saw Brendan in background saying no they don't.

At least a few times I heard someone coughing in the background, think the annual strictly lurgy is going round.

tonight at the very end of helen and aljaz dance , you can see someone from the side (opposite the judges) gesture to the audience to stand up ,
cause there was a definite pause and it wasn't spontaneous

Everyone laughing at Claudias 'De Nile' joke. Apart from Gleb who looks completely blank faced. Made me chuckle

Ohhhhhhh didn't notice that ...interesting.
Someone who was at the show last night said that Gleb ( notice I didn't say Gleb and Anita ), Aliona and Jay, Kellie and Kevin and Jeremy and Karen were really popular with the audience. That person also said that the standing ovation for jay and Aliona after their dance was spontaneous

And what did Len mean when he said something (I think when talking to Jay) on the lines of "I'm not sure what mark to give you, I keep changing my mind and those upstairs will wonder what I mean when I keep changing my mind".

Who is given the scores before we see the judges showing their paddle boards? It would seem that someone knows the scores before the dancers have even been criticised (good or bad) by the judges.

The judges give their scores via keypad at the end of the dance, before they give their comments, so that the score graphics can be prepared.

Presumably Len entered a score, then cancelled it and gave a different score.

I thought he was perhaps much slower than the others in entering his score because he could not make his mind up.

I was there last night (I have been tangentially involved with the show on and off for a few years) There was nobody gesturing to the audience to get up that I saw. The side opposite to the judges is mostly for 'connections'. People who have an investment in the show and the dancers (emotional or otherwise).

There is nobody in the studio who instructs people to give standing ovations despite what many people on this forum think. In fact at Television Centre whole sections from the audience are actively told not to stand because of the noise or blocking camera shots.

One of the reasons that sometimes the reception to the dances in the studio are difference to that which viewers might expect is the way the performance is put together. Some routines just work better when viewed in the studio than on TV. the better pros know how to choreograph well for the cameras.

BIB- and often, the cameras know how to stuff up the viewers' enjoyment.

I will NEVER get over the irritation of putting tricksy camera work ahead of the need to see the actual dance.
