LG 42LF652V Smart TV, Youtube app not there
Phil Owens

Just got an LG 42LF652V smart TV, looking through the apps I can't seem to find Youtube app or in the content store for download. LG say it is on the TV.
Where is it?, what am I doing wrong..?

Found it.
However, I found it in the premium services and had to download it, not the place I'd thought I would find a free service.

Found this thread and brought it up as I'm looking for a 43" ultra LG for the old man - the TV MUST have the youtube and Now apps*, but looking through reviews and comments on the web I'm getting mixed messages - some saying "there's NO Youtube app" (could it be as above, hidden under premium but doesn't appear on the main page?).

I tend to think it still does - why wouldn't they?? - on the grounds that on my UF770 it still appears OK, whereas the excellent v-tuner app got discontinued and taken off.

Anyhow, anyone bought an LG lately and is youtube there??

*Don't want to use chromecast or similar as it's just an extra thing for him to deal with and at 80-odd he finds it confusing enough anyway with what he has...

I read that all the new LG UHD TV's have YouTube with the vp9 codec to stream 4K.

Depends if you can achieve 35mb that will be more than enough for the youtube 4K content.

If you go to the LG website and look at their UHD TVs it seems like all of the individual model webpages have at least one image showing the TV with YouTube as an option.

Also doesn't look like they do 43" UHD either, could only see a single 42" and 16 49"

43" are still available brand new luckily, if you can put in the effort (OK, Google!) to track them down. As for the images, I think there is a disclamer in there somewhere that what's shown might not be provided/guaranteed?
