Have any of you deleted any of the new stock apps like iMovie, iTunes U, Numbers e.t.c. ?

I'm just wondering as they do seem to take up quite a lot of space and it's likely i'll never use them.

It seems to be give me the option to delete most of them ..

Cheers

I've removed most of those optional apps. Pages, Numbers & Keynote are a total waste of space for me personally as I use the MS Office apps exclusively, on all my computers and devices.

Thanks for that - I guess I just wanted to have some sort of weird justification for going ahead and doing it as well

(and yes, i know that's daft ..)

I use these Apps on my iPad but not on my iPhone. They always used to have to be downloaded for free and installed - do devices now come with them?

Yes they're now pre-installed on iOS devices and on Mac's. The 'entitlement' to these apps is assigned to your Apple ID on the app store, so you can always download them again.

They're not 'free to everyone' as people with older devices still have to pay, my 2012 Mac didn't come with Keynote/Numbers/Pages and so I'd have to pay to download them.

On IOS when any new device gives App Store entitlement you can put these on any older devices for free.

I don't have a newer Mac - iOS entitlement doesn't grant Mac entitlement

Not surprising, GarageBand by itself is huge....!

Deleted a few of them, but found myself having too much fun to delete GarageBand heh. 64GB 6S Plus though, got 40GB free atm.

i suppose this counts, as it's still a quick question but it's different ..

the phone handset keeps refusing to connect to iTunes for some reason - i haven't plugged it in to my PC yet, but if i try to sign in on the phone itself, i keep getting the error that it cannot connect to the itunes store.

any ideas ?

there's a 'fix' i've seen on youtube that appears to suggest that you have to change the wifi dns settings to google's one, but i was just wondering if there was another reason it might be happening ?

#edit ..

and now it appears to have connected just fine .. hmmmmm

It could be an Apple Server problem today, not been able to update Apps on IPad or Mac today so far.

i was thinking this actually - makes the most sense really since the 'fix' on youtube i saw about the DNS settings did seem a bit excessive.
