...namely, he should have tossed a bloodstained baseball bat onto the table as he sat down. It would have fitted perfectly with his bald-headed hard man image.

I think it's a mistake having Claude in this role. His fearsome reputation as the killer interviewer has been replaced by donning kitchen aprons and saying and doing very little , I'm not sure it suits him

For the most part I agree, but there were flashes of Interview-Stage-Claude in the boardroom, when he was saying how his team were a bloody shambles. I'd like it if he frequently contributed in the boardroom, it'd make things a bit interesting.

Yes, it would have been more impressive if he'd had a lit firework sticking out of his ass.

I'm sure he'll get used to it.

He didn't even say hello or anything - just sat there looking grumpy.

I miss the Margaret/Nick facial expressions, Karen and Claude just don't do it.

I'm hoping that perhaps Claude is being groomed to replace Sugar himself

One (extremely anal) thing I noticed is that the teams now sit/stand directly in front of their particular "aide". I'm sure in previous years they had the weird thing where Nick would give the results for the team opposite Karren, and Karren vice versa...

Margaret and Nick had a really good rapport. I do miss her.

I find Claude slightly camp. Like he wears sock garters.
Purple.

I love Claude, I love his dry sense of humour, once he settles in his new role he'll do fine.
But sadly I will miss him in the interview episode, this is where he comes into his own.

Its been a long time since I last saw it, but I'm pretty sure Nick and/or Margret did interview in the first series.
I've always thought it would be sensible for them to do so, as they will have observed the candidates for weeks and so will have pertinent questions. Interviewers from outside the process can only go on the C.V.s and business plans.

They did indeed in Series 1, but since then there has never been anyone doing both roles.

I think it is a mistake having Claude as babysitter. He won´t shine and we won´t see him in the interview episode.

If I had to do a business deal with either Claude, Alan Sugar ,Karen Bradey or fired Dan , one would go for Dan , a honest likable guy ...

I thought Claude did a good job, and I'd have no problems if Claude, Karren, and Suges did the final interviews each year.

I don't like Claude at all, I think he's a bald Craig Revel Horwood without the self-awareness that he's playing a role. Immediately in there with the 'look how nasty I am' hyperbole.

"It was the most shambolic thing I've ever seen in my life..." no it wasn't, stop trying to get yourself a book deal or a spin off series by being TV's latest 'Mr Nasty'. It's bad enough Alan Sugar now sounds as if everything that comes out of his mouth has been rehearsed in front of a mirror for hours on end without someone else joining in too.

Get the feeling that what was once entertaining TV once a series during the interview episode is going to grate very, very quickly and that he'll be outraged, horrified, appalled, shocked and disgusted about 400 times over the course of the series - or at least pretend to be.

Haha, nicely summed up.

Excellent!

I'd never thought of the Craig Revel Horwood similarity. Whenever I see him, I just think "There's a guy who desperately wanted to be Grant Mitchell ... and he still thinks he's auditioning for the part!"

The "Mr. Nasty" has been done to death and he just comes across as a cartoon character. At least Nick and Margaret just played themselves and could convey more with one glance towards the camera than "Grant Mitchell Lite" can with a load of trash talk.

Claude reminds me of a ghost that appears fleetingly during the night and then isn't seen during the day.

I had trouble spotting him in the cactus task. Nothing he said was memorable.

He has no wit even when he does speak.

I think he is a bad choice. But that's what you get with nepotism.

Well they try, Karen especially. Always looks like she's doing an impression of Alan on the vinegar stroke.

I like Claude, strangely enough, but I would much prefer it if he had stayed as an interviewer. However, I don't think he is a bad replacement for Nick.
