Carol sounds like she has a very sensible attitude to it but I doubt she went into the show with much expectation of being a brilliant dancer or winning so probably doesn't really see herself as in competition with the great dancers, more with herself to improve a little every week and so can enjoy great dancing when she sees it. Peter, on the other hand, probably went into this series expecting to be the big name star who everyone was talking about (he had made enough fuss in the press every year about how they kept asking him but he couldn't squeeze it into his busy schedule) and perhaps there is a tiny bit of resentment that Jay is stealing his thunder and that leaked out a bit in his interview. Sports people like Anthony are probably used to a more level playing field in their normal jobs so perhaps struggle with competing against such a wide range of skill levels. As Carol said, though, they should all know exactly what they're signing up for so shouldn't complain as it doesn't do anyone any favours.”

I think Carol is probably a regular viewer, so knows that there are going to be different levels of skill. Some people get more fitting music, better costumes. Those that don't watch are the ones surprised that the judges can be mean, that music can be awful, that you may be required to dress as an animal, and that some people may be better due to skill, training, musicality, fitness etc.

I'm not a particular fan of Peter, but I don't think he has said anything that can be criticised too heavily. Basically, if people are aware of Jay's previous experience and are not too bothered then there is no problem. If some people are unaware then it isn't unreasonable to suggest (for fairness) that they should be.

I agree that Peter is not entirely the blank canvas he claims to be and I'd guess that in Jay's position he would downplay his experience as much as possible. But that is just supposition. I don't think he said anything unprofessional in the interview. I also think there are many people who would feel exactly the same in his position.

That's true. I'm always amazed that anyone would sign up for a show for 5 months without doing a bit of research into past series, but then its the same with the people who go on I'm a Celebrity and seem surprised at what they have to do - I guess some celebs just do whatever their agent tells them is a good idea.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant that Peter is much more experienced at the reality TV side of the show and has strong links with all the papers, more than any other celeb this year, and that's a big part of who will win, and I think some times goes unmentioned. I don't know what dancing Peter has done before, I was thinking of all the other parts of winning a public vote.

Just the usual 'source', which is basically a chance to make stuff up and another excuse to trot out 'The Curse Of Strictly' non-storyline.

Oh gotya. Yes, he's probably the most media savvy. Though (unlike elections) I think the media stuff doesn't influence Strictly voters as much. I think the judges and producers play their part though in the way they talk about and score contestants - what kind of story / journey they create for the couples, who gets the best music / themes (especially towards the end to help build momentum), who gets what judge's choice in the final, who gets to do what style of Showdance etc.

This is the same "3am" section that had to print a retraction after saying the police were called to Ben Cohen's house after an argument with his wife..... he wasn't even there at the time. So I probably wouldnt believe it.

I don't like Katie Price or Peter Andre,,,however I have found her, even in her most foul mouthed, and vulgar rants, to be way more credible & honest than syrupy PeDuh.

It just shows the level of self entitlement, and delusional behaviour the guy has, to think he could fool a judge, with blatant lies and get away with it.

Soooo .... Man who has 25 years of experience dancing and performing in front of the public wants EVERYONE to know that 25 year old competitor has previous dance experience.

Andre is media savvy if I should say it nicely, so if he says something to media, he knows what it means. The question is if people will eat it up the way he wants them to.

How is she bitching if she isn't talking to others?

Not to mention in the same article she has fallen to the curse of SCD because she split from her boyfriend before the series started AND she is also responsible for her boyfriend in the past dating an older woman.

What part of that doesn't surprise you and actually what part of that is likely to be relevant at all.

Didn't the mods say that this crossing of threads should not happen?”

I've seen that thread and it really is truly appalling. But I've seen other celebs attacked in the same way in Showbiz. It actually makes me feel sick - the level of vitriol aimed toward people the posters have never met and don't know personally.

And to be honest, it's been creeping in here for years. I used to post all the time and read this forum incessantly. I stopped doing that a few years ago when the level of viciousness toward the celebs ('because we can' is the usual pitiful excuse) reached levels that actually ruined one series for me. That was the year I didn't even watch the final.

Personally, I wouldn't put any faith in a report from the Scum ... But that's just me.

This week in a court of law a judge has said Peter Andre is a liar.

I was actually talking to someone today who was a big Andre fan until she met him. She said his Mr. Nice Guy is all an act.

I saw a pic on Instagram of Helen out to dinner with some of the Strictly pros/celebs. Georgia put it up a day or so ago so doubt very much there is any credibility in that article. Surprise, surprise.

I’ve never been to dance school, so technically I’ll never be brilliant. In regards to Jay, as long as everyone now knows he’s dance school trained then fair play to him.”

If you're a avid follower of Strictly, you'll know about Jay's education, if you're a casual, tabloid reading viewer, you might not. So has Peter bringing this to the attention of millions of Sun reader pulled an ace here and damaged Jay's chances with the casual watching crowd or has Peter damaged his own chances by attempting a rather unsportsman-like bitter swipe at a fellow competitor? Or will it make not a shred of difference?

(In the interest of fairness,Peter was not 'purely self taught' as he has worked with numerous personal chorographers over the years including Michael Jackson's choreographer).”

We all pick a favourite and stick with them regardless.

I think less of people who read The Sun and particularly those who don't realise that articles are written based on the answers to questions and then put together without context or question.

Mine too - wonder if it was as a result of him losing his court case.

True and if you want to be correct, Kellie, Jay, Helen, Georgia and possibly Jamelia have all had some kind of stage school experience - with some kind of movement training.

The only true beginners are Ainsley, Jeremy, Kirsty, Carol, Anita, Daniel and Katie.

Someone is trying to ruin Helen's chances I reckon by painting her as a b*tch.

Currently on my third favourite this series and I'm sure I'm not alone.

It was a direct quote, in quotations, from Peter. He later tried to wriggle out of it by saying it was taken out of context. Then he changed his mind and deleted the tweet. He said it alright. And no amount of sneering about tabloid readers by you will change that.

Yes a quote in answer to a loaded question.
Did I say he didn't say it?
Do you understand what context means, it seems not.
I don't need to snear at "Sun" readers ( you made an incorrect judgement) for people to understand that some FMs are simply incapable of undestanding what is being discussed.
Your comment is entirely without merit or relevance IMO. Sorry about that.
