It's very difficult to assess as a viewer.
The point I make is that, for one thing, the order in which someone does the dances can give a very misleading impression because some dances will suit them more than others. Someone who starts with a dance that doesn't really suit them can seem to have improved much more than someone in the opposite scenario just for that reason. There are other variables too...injuries, training time, the strengths / weaknesses of the pro, laxer judging in the later rounds etc. which all serve possibly to obscure the underlying trend (if any). Understandable that people (and their fans and producers etc) want to talk about a 'journey' in RTV - it's a story that works - but I'm always wary of such claims. |

Julian Clary far and away the most improved I ever saw. Michael Vaughan, Matt Dawson and Gethin Jones also improved a lot.
In terms of talented dancers who got a lot better, I always thought Matt di Angelo and Pamela Stephenson made considerable strides over their series. |

For me Darren Gough and Matt Dawson.
The common link - Lilia Kopylova! ![]() Come to think of it Aled Jones improved a lot aswell. Whose big idea was it to get rid of Lilia?
