Hey guys and girls, I've just came out with a genius idea of an app for strictly come dancing, this would encourage twists and turns for scoring and we could also submit our free votes on. BBUK and TXF use an app for android and iOs devices and I can't see why SCD production team can't join in as we're in an era of modern technology anyway.

This is a fabulous idea Paul, my phone is an android so I would use an app like this all the time, I think that most people would, we need a gear head to get this one off the ground, I wonder if there are any looking in ?

It's up to the management now and producers to make an app for android and iOs devices. Maybe the presenters will read this idea too.

BBC needs to save money and the Government wants it to save on online content, the APP would cost, not going to happen.

Strictly seems to be able to spend what it wants.

It'll be a free app and will be easy when you know how.

There are a number of inherent problems with this idea that makes me sceptical that it would happen.

The design and initialisation costs for an app of the quality the BBC would demand would be massive. If they aren't charging, where is the revenue generation, as they would be limited in terms of advertising. If, therefore, there is no income, how would the app pay to keep itself maintained. It seems unlikely that this could be viable in an app that would need constant update. Finally, what happens to the app the dormant part of the year. Not enough people are involved I the tour to make it worth updating for that.

The BBC appear to have a reasonably generous budget, but that is on a programme that is their flagship slot. Their reasonable argument may well be, why add to that when there are active social media sources that boost the programme's presence, without investment and infrastructure costs.

I just don't think it's, therefore, likely.

I like the idea of an app but they would have to cover iphone, android and windows I remember when BB started their app it was chaos I think Strictly should just stick with their website or phone votes, really most people that vote online will have smartphones so they can vote pretty much the same way they would with an app.

BIB: I don't think the tour is anything to do with the BBC anyway, so even less likely.

There is an official BBC App for The Voice (probably not very useful now ). It is rated highly in respect of user reviews and could possibly be adapted for Strictly, although I don't think it would support viewer voting.

I don't think it is such a bad idea.

Apps are not necessarily expensive to build. Cost depends on various factors.

It sounds great to me Paul, I don't mind a steep learning curve.
