A brilliant album, truly. Sanctuary and Sirens need to be singles for sure.

I also think The Fall is amazing, I think it deserved to be on the standard edition.

I liked Butterfly but I haven't listened to the rest of the album yet. Are there many ballads on it or is it a different sound to Westlife?

Finished listening to it a short while ago and I am very impressed. Anyone who thinks it's going to be like Westlife should be pleasantly surprised when they actually listen to it as it's so different.

The overall production is excellent and I'm really curious to see what he comes up with next.

Very different to Westlife, the only song that could be on Westlife album is probably Only You. I like that song but I'm not crazy about it, though I'm sure it is a very personal song for him.

Highlights i my opinion are Sirens, Sanctuary, Simple Love, Casablanca and The Fall.

Killer vocals on Casablanca and not a very typical ballad, it is amazing, it just sounds big and it is a great finish to the standard edition of the album. You can hear he means every word.

Here is the performance of Butterfly on Ray D'Arcy show:

The acoustic version is very good and I also like his backing singers.

Mark is #20 in Midweeks.

Of course he deserves a better position but I think this is actually not bad at all, all things considered.

Hopefully he will keep this up until Friday.

It's alright, more or less what I expected judging by his debut single, nothing really stands out for me at the moment, good back ground music at most.

I finally got around to listening to the previews on iTunes a couple of days ago and it's not a bad album, though I'm not sure I would buy the whole album. It's different to Westlife.

I've listened to it several times and it gets better with every listen. I feel he did the right thing by opting to go independent because as he said in an interview earlier this year that if he had signed with a big label they probably would have got him to do music that was similar to Westlife. It's the most surprising album I've heard this year and it shows that he's eager to shake off the boyband label.

I've also heard parts of Shane's solo material and even though he was my favourite member of Westlife I don't really see much of a difference to what he was doing before, which is disappointing since he is talented.

I agree on Shane, his sound is very similar to Westlife but at the same time, I'm not surprised as he always seemed to me like he doesn't have the urge to do something different, he loved that safe bubble Westlife had.

Mark's album is indeed better with each new listen, it is very evident he worked a lot on his new sound.

Mark posted on his Youtube channel his performance on Butterfly on Lorraine:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYoM-MwZQfE

He is currently #23 in UK Midweeks - that is to be expected since the Lorraine show was the only TV promo he had in UK.

Though, it is good to see he is doing fairly well in Ireland, he is back to Top 10 on iTunes.

great news for Irish charts: Mark's album is #2!

And not bad in UK, being at #25 - considering he only had 1 UK TV promo and bunch of radio appearances on B list and internet radios - it would be unfair to expect something higher.

I do believe Mark s doing very well in the situation he is in.

He has done something very different from Westlife, but likes Shane's material the music doesn't overly excite me. He has charted well in Ireland but like Shane a couple of weeks ago the high chart position was mainly down to instore signings. Like Shane Mark will unfortunately plummet next week. Looks like Shane, Mark and hugely surprisingly Kian will all sell in or around the same amount of albums with their releases.
