April's accent

Did anyone else notice that April seemed to have dropped her Jamaican accent last night? On the first task it was very strong, last night it was barely noticeable.

I'm wondering if, like Series 5's Lorraine, she's going to alternate between very authentic and very Anglicised.

Think she was born in London, grew up in Jamaica hence the switch between accents.

Yes I thought that! Her accent seemed to completely change in the second episode. Perhaps she feels her Jamaican accent is more authoritative and so ramped it up when she was PM?

People fall back into their natural tongue when they're being themselves or when then don't have to put up a front. Plus being the owner of a Jamaican shop she probably puts it on a bit when she has customers in, help build rapport etc.

On a side note it happens every series and it's really cringy when the candidates have to deal with someone of their own ilk. They put their accent on and ham it up.
