If they're qualified to work in the UK, there's no problem. After all, last year's winner was Australian - and not just Aussie-born but he had only been working in the UK for a couple of years, if memory serves.

Fair point, I do find her quite annoying, there's definitely a culture clash I can see on the screen. I forgot that other bloke who was canadian (season 9?), now that I think of it - she could be canadian?
But she probably has residence or something |

Fair enough but I also thought Aisha sounded a bit American too.
Shame. That's two places that could have went to Brits. |

Shame. That's two places that could have went to Brits. I have no issue with British nationals appearing on international editions as well, so long as they were living and working in that country. |

She lives in Barcelona according to her profile on the site so like the Irish candidates who've been on it and I think lived in Ireland she qualifies by virtue of EU resident.
Honestly who cares really as long as the show is entertaining and Vana is probably going to be a vocal character. |

I'd prefer that given how much more entertaining the American version of the show is, particularly the Celebrity one.

Doing that wouldn't be very diverse though, would it? There need to be candidates with varieties of different backgrounds - if they were all from the same location, that would be a bit odd.

Lord Sid is putting up the prize - he can let anyone he wants compete. She's far from the first American anyway.

Why is there an Australian on the X Factor UK?! How did a Hungarian group win Britain's Got Talent a couple of years ago?! The answer is just because. It's not a new thing and it really doesn't matter, unless you are against multicutralism of course.

these days you need to cast a wider net to find the required idiots to enter the contest
Good English and the required paperwork to run a business over here then thats probably 99% of the requirements to actually appear Piers Morgan won the US celeb and it has had Sharon Osbourne in it etc |

Why do you find them idiots? It seems like there are quite a lot of pretty capable people on it. Ruth, Charleine, Richard and Vana all come across as being pretty strong, and there are others like Jennifer, Gary, Sam, Elle, Joseph and David who we haven't seen enough of yet, but don't seem especially incompetent so far. That's ten people, and there are only sixteen left.
