For this SIM offer, the £10 that is required, can this be topped up at an ATM machine?

Yes, I did so as it kept failing online.

The online topup site is cack. Took me a few attempts before I got it through.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but what happens if you try to use this SIM abroad? Do you just revert to EE's roaming rates?

Is it £10 recent Topup OR £10 (or more) credit when you request the extra 100Gb?

I ask because I topped up £5 and was then told I needed £10. However I seem to lost £0.12 on an SMS somewhere - so I only have a balance of £4.88!!!

Will another £5 Topup do -or am I looking at £10?

EE SIM's (even phone ones) don't normally allow ad-hoc data roaming! What happens when you try to use data abroad is that you get immediately redirected to buy one of a range of data "add-ons" (so many Mb for so many days). These addons are taken from cash credit - NOT any allowances!

My method is this:

Insert SIM for the first time. Send STOP PACK command to 150. Then send VO command with voucher number to 150. Receive ten pounds credit, no bundle.

Then send the command for the free 200GB data. Enjoy.

Next time you're abroad, use the ten pound credit to purchase data in emergencies. I did that last week in France. Of course, 50 megs for 3GBP is a) outrageous and b) useless but it might just last until you get to a shop to buy a local SIM.

And no, the claimed amount of emails, web pages etc that you're supposed to get for 50 or one hundred megs simply ain't true.

However, it's one way of benefiting further from the unused credit.

Sometimes stopping the pack first stops the code working. But you can top up, text the Christmas code and then stop - leaving £10 for use afterwards.

Am afraid I've found just the opposite.

I received the SIM today. On the packet it says "top up £10 within 14 days of getting it to buy your Data Pack".

Another £5 topup won't do because it has to be £10 to activate the free data.

I wouldn't worry about the 14 days. I just activated another one earlier today that is over 4 weeks old.

My SIM is currently misbehaving. I added the £10 via the topup card, then let the pack start so the credit is gone. Sending CHRISTMAS100 to 150 gets me back "Sorry, but this offer is not available to you.". Even more annoying, they've also texted with the "Last chance to enjoy your Christmas treat!"... message. Have an ongoing support call to try to get this fixed

Odd... I think I have had the same issue! I was having issues last night, I haven't properly checked it out as I'd had too many glasses of wine!

I topped up £10 and text 'CHRISTMAS100' to 150 but I didn't receive any confirmation message.

When I go to the browser on my phone, it goes to add-on.ee.co.uk/redirect and says 'Need some data?'.

How long does it usually take for the data to be activated? I sent the text to 150 about 45 minutes ago.

Usually immediately.

Just send it again. Sometimes I've had to send commands a few times.

How long have you had the sim before activating?. I'm just wondering if the new batch of sims really do now have a 14 day expiry window

I've ordered 2 now. Neither have turned up.
I'm running out of email addresses!
What the hell is going on?
No HD Netflix for the kids this Christmas.
I even bought a TP-Link repeater to beam the Huawei b593's signal down into the sitting room properly.
Cheers EE!

My second SIM turned up a couple of days ago, having been ordered 2 days before that. It was a backup in case the one I was having trouble activating never worked - but in fact EE finally got it going, they had to add the 100GB deal themselves rather than me being able to do it by SMS.

On email addresses, remember that if you have e.g. devonbloke@gmail.com then you can use devonbloke+ee1@gmail.com devonbloke+ee2@gmail.com etc and all will land in your main gmail account.

After the 100GB data starts in the first month, when is the £10 topup deducted?

So far, I've used about 5GB data, but when I call 150 it says my current balance is £10.

Has anybody tried to activate one of these recently, i.e within the last week or two with a sim that's well beyond its 14 day window?.

I've just topped up a sim which was delivered about a five weeks ago using a Voucher, upon texting 150, I got a reply saying that the sim wasn't valid for this offer. I tried doing the same thing with a second Sim - , which arrived four days after the first one, this time I topped it up via a Cash Machine, but I got exactly the same message.

I asked EE customer services for help and the very first question they asked was whether the sim was over 14 days old, when I said Yes, they replied that was the reason why they won't activate, and Sorry but they can't help with activating expired sims.

I just wondered whether they are enforcing the 14 day window now or whether this was just an excuse and the problem lies elsewhere.

I'll try shortly and revert.

I activated one yesterday that I have had sitting around for about six weeks with no problem at all.
