I've always been a small in mens clothing and am roughly the same weight I've always been.

However on a recent shopping trip I noticed that a small now seems far too big, almost like it's actually a medium, despite the label saying small.

It can depend on the intended fit. You could be a small for a regular fit but medium for a slim fit. There do seem to be more fit styles than ever before so you do have to be aware.

I'm sure women's sizes are, I couldn't fit into a size 10 trousers a decade or so ago but now I can even though I've not lost weight. Also it seems bra sizes are shrinking so small boobs are now a D cup.

My clothes are getting smaller

My opinion is that really depends on the country and the fashion culture there, but there is definitely a trend of wearing more oversized clothes. Winter sweaters and shirts, tend to be bigger then the actual size nowadays. I have noticed a big trend is wearing very tight trousers and an oversized blouse. So i think there is definitely something there going on.

Yes I think women's clothes have got bigger over the years. I sometimes buy second hand or vintage things and have to get one or two sizes bigger than my normal size.

Some current brands' sizes come up bigger than usual so I need to go down a size for them. Is it called vanity sizing?

I fit into size 6 tops in one store and i'm 8 stone 4 lbs with sizeable boobs. I am a size 8/10 but no 6.

I honestly feel to make people in the UK feel better about their increasing weight they are adapting the size of clothes. Five years ago I would never have fit into a size 6- and would not want to!

Asos sizes are all to cock. I am a size 6 to 8, but a petite five foot tall but a size 4 petite from Asos doesn't fit me it's far too big.

Yes it is. We see it all the time where I work. We get huge wide tops with a size 16 on them, and they're really a 20. I'm a 14-16 and they fall off me. It's to make fat women think they're thinner than they are and feel better about themselves

Depends on the shop, website etc. Sizing varies hugely depending on where you shop.

I buy a lot from ASOS and the sizing varies even in their own range stuff. I buy the same size and yet some will fit, some are huge and others too tight

I agree I range anything from a size 4, 6 and 8 but never a size 10 in anything usually I only have a size 4 in trousers etc as I am smaller in the bottom half than the top half, however I seem to be a size 4 in everything from Miss Selfridge because they oversize their tops and the bottoms are more standard sizing.

Forgot to mention that I have ordered a number of fashion items from QVC which are suppossed to be size XS and they have had to be sent back as they have arrived to big and there is very othen not a smaller size available

Yes the labelling has changed. Basically the population is getting larger and the shops don't want us feeling 'fat' or large and have altered their sizes accordingly, except for designer clothes which are all on the small side. Some shops like Karen Millen still do the small sizing.

I think so for some odd reason I am now in a size 10 where as for many years I have been borderline 12 now suddenly I am in a 10 It's a nice thought but I was surprised trying on jeans pick them off the shelf as a size 12 went to try them on every single pair was huge

I'm only 5ft and a size 8-10, buying clothes used to be great, lately even the petite ranges seem an awful lot bigger.

I had an early Jeff Banks thick woollen jumper which must have quadrupled in size after I washed it. I'm still not sure how that happened.

I haven't noticed any changes to most retailers' sizing - I've been a Medium for the best part of 5 years now, and they all fit the same.

However, I have noticed that Primark's sizing has got smaller over recent years - before most (but not all) Mediums fitted OK, now I'm a Primark Large...

The sizes certainly have but then in general so are people.

Yes definitely, most clothes are being made far bigger than the size they are supposed to be. And everything seems to have these huge waists, it's really annoying. Some size 6 or 8 trousers seem to be more like a 14, it's ridiculous. Most of the high street shops seem to be doing this, the only one that seems to be more true to size is Topshop.
