Anyone else really disappointed by Jenny?
Saw her in the audition videos and thought she'd be going places, but no. She's remained largely in the background and done nothing as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's early days yet, with so many candidates at this stage some are going to be sidelined. Some of the most talented candidates in the past (e.g Tom and Helen from series 7) were fairly invisible the first few weeks of the process.
I think Jenny's edit for episode 2 was quite positive for the little screen-time she got (I remember one of the girls commenting that she was good). That is quite encouraging at this stage of the competition and hopefully Jenny will get a chance to shine more in the upcoming episodes. Also hope we will get to see her as PM. |

On the first task she was in the background, but on the second task she directed the photo shoot and seemed to do a good job. Charleine was really positive about her.

Would be very surprised if she made it to the latter stages of this series.

Her time on screen is very limited (through the whole episode; from skyline to skyline) and she reminds me a bit of Ella Jade (the video director who was also cannon fodder once she got into the boardroom).

You mean like Michelle's was by this point in her series?
![]() The prize has at least and if we are to compare it then Dr. Leah is probably a more recent stand-in (for Michelle) and she was noted by many people early on as being a good seller (like Ruth and Charleine this series). |

Well, I would assume that the editing has changed a bit since ten years ago

Rewatched the episode, she does seem to be portrayed quite positively in the second episode. Based on her "feisty" audition tape, I was kinda expecting her to be more "out there", but she's stayed fairly mundane.

Yep Charlene praised her even when Jenny herself seemed unsure so she must have done a good job, candidates are rarely quick to praise each other in the boardroom.

Potential winner based on her edit so far

I didn't think she should have been fired, I like her style and I think she drew the short straw quite a lot, but you did well to predict it. Nice one

I did not think much of her on "You're fired" as she was full of words but nothing else. She praised both PMs and thought they were both good leaders.

![]() ![]() I thought she looked really attractive on YF last night, MAYBE MY EYESIGHT IS GETTING WORSE AS I GET OLDER....but the 2 shows I watched she didn't do or say much, not that you could get a word in with those other egomaniacs filling the screen! |

Well, Claude didn't have anything bad to say about Vana either (and he knows more then the rest of us). He did have a swipe at Elle though, which might prove very telling.

I thought she was too good for the show, and is head and shoulders above the other Candidates.
And she didn't. She allowed the other women to dominate her: as she said on You're Fired, there was only one phone and she couldn't get hold of it. As Claude said, she wasn't very good. There is no point in our saying Jenny had a mildly positive edit, because Lord Sugar had not seen any footage, let alone the completed episodes. All he can go on is what Claude and Karren tell him, and -- crucially -- what the candidates themselves say in the boardroom. Clearly, whatever Jenny said was not convincing. So no, Jenny was not head and shoulders above the others. |

I thought she was unmemorable and her 'speech' and subsuquent interviews/comments have made her look really immature - i.e. "Lord Sugar will be knocking on MY door!" So he will.

She seemed like a nice enough girl with a wildly overinflated sense of her own ability, importance and star power, that's probably due to immaturity. Normally you give people a bit of a pass because they all know by now that they have to BS up that they think they're the greatest thing since sliced bread to even get on the show but her mouth kept on running long after she got fired.

One thing though... with the exception of Vana, the other candidates seemed to really respect Jenny, in a way that most candidates don't get. Charleine was very positive about her last week. When Elle hugged her, she said, 'You're going to go so far!' And assuming she was telling the truth at the end there, many people seemed worried that they might face her in the final. She was obviously considered a big threat for the prize.

Ironically, that's what got her fired. I'd like to think it is why she will do well in future, but perhaps not as an entrepreneur. |

Unfortunately, what got Jenny fired was how she played it.
TA doesn't always reward "team-players", and I think that's what Jenny was. She was trying to help the others find the Leaver's Lace and stuff, and Vana just snubbed her. As she said on YF, she should've been more prominent, but she didn't really make any mistakes. Unfortunately, that's what it all boils down to. On the show, it's really hard to strike a balance between being a team-player and a prominent character. If you're a team player, you'll be gone like Jenny. If a prominent character, you'll be loathed like Vana. Charleine is the only one ticking both those boxes at the minute - she's made a positive contribution to every task without overshadowing her team. Gender also plays a role in this too. As GM said before, quietly confident male candidates tend to go further than abrasive ones, whilst it's the polar opposite with the women. Examples of this include the likes of Tom Pellereu, Solomon Akhtar and Tom Gearing, and Luisa Zissman, Debra Barr and Claire Young for the women. Steven from series 10 was loud and abrasive and fired quickly, whilst quiet Jemma went soon after. Basically, if Jenny was male, she'd have gotten a lot further. That sounds much weirder than I'd envisioned... |
