Have I wandered into The Thread for Lazy Journalists by mistake?

Many newspaper articles like this are just collections of 'quotes' taken out of context or from 'sources' who could be anybody.

Then newspapers copy each other.

The Sun's front page said Aliona Exclusive - then the article said it was written 'exclusively' by a journalist. NOT the same thing at all

Paparazzi wait outside an 'event' or people's houses to catch a 'moment' which often means nothing.

Think of that 'grumpy' picture of the Queen that's used to illustrate all sorts of articles - when in reality she was probably just trying not to sneeze!

Aren't most of the threads these days?

(says the woman who was a completely unlazy journalist and never once quoted anyone without actually picking up the phone and speaking to them! )

Indeed - some of the papers have their own "press speak" dictionaries.

A source = some minion we've bunged a fiver and a bag of chips to in order to get a "newsworthy" quote. They've only actually ever walked past the door to the Strictly studio once but it's close enough.

Reportedly = by us. Here. Now.

Insider = We are not divulging which institution this blethering idiot is currently an "insider" of.

Is said to be = See "Reportedly".

The state of what passes for journalism these days not only makes me weep, but also makes me glad I'm no longer doing it and very pleased my superb former editors who drilled all I know about writing great accurate stories into me are no longer on this Earth.
They'd be utterly dumbfounded by the way "news" is reported now.

Well, I'm just in from work and catching up on ITT, and it showed Jay hugging both Carol and Helen - proper lifting off the floor hugs, head in their necks, lasting for ages hugs! The hussy! It's all the proof I need.

It's a foursome obviously.

Ack. Carol and Helen are the only ones for whom we have actual factual evidence of shagging. Tip of the iceberg. Reportedly. Said a source.

Seeing them together, him a naive young boy and she being an experienced professional, I come to the conclusion that she would have him for breakfast

I have seen with my own eyes that Tess holds hands with Jay at every opportunity. They're quite blatant about it. If that's not proof of a fivesome...

I dunno what the world is coming to these days - people hugging each other and all.

Has no-one got a bucket of cold water on Strictly?

[trying hard not to comment] just hope their next dance is not the rumba . a cheeky charleston or salsa would be a good defuser

Do you remember when Fiona and Anton shared a sandwich on a park bench it was close encounters on here for weeks

It seems to me that dancers are very used to being very close to partners in the dance, it would be odd if they then were not like this in real life

Yeah I'm really hoping that they have the Charleston this week; It will be great for them to have a nice fun/upbeat dance especially after the " disastrous QS " they had over the weekend.
We already have 2 salsa so I think that they wont have that.
Plus the Charleston will bring his personality a lot more...I am really looking forward to see them have this dance

I could be wrong ( but I don't think I am) but his expression in that photo after the awards ceremony doesn't scream " we are at it like rabbits" to me....

If a Man had his arms around my Wife like that picture in the Sun I would not be at all happy but everyone to their own

Maybe there's really nothing going on between the two of them.

No. The hair's great. All very monochromatic. That dangg jacket, though, photo bombs the whole colour scheme.
