One Direction - Perfect
ChateauMarmont
17-10-2015
When it became available yesterday, I downloaded it via Apple Music and God! I love it!

I wasn't really a fan of the album Four or Drag Me Down, but this one seems to have struck something with me. Perfect catchy song to me, and on repeat at the moment.

Only downside is the connection with Taylor Swift:

"And if you like midnight driving with the windows down"
"It's 2am, in your car, windows down past your street the memories start" - From Taylor, I Wish You Would

And the obvious reference to her in someone to write break up songs about. Obviously this is why it'll be big on sales through the link, but besides that, love it!

Well, it's not held onto the #1 spot on iTunes as long as Drag Me Down did.

So I actually don't think One Direction are likely to get to #1 next Friday. KDA look more likely to be #1 although with the way the UK charts have stagnated since moving to a Friday, plus the rapid rise in streaming, it'll probably be Justin Bieber for a sixth week!!!

(this is coming from someone who likes popular songs holding at #1 for a few weeks, but when said popular song is What Do You Mean? it fills me with dread)

How are the sales going for this song does anybody know? Also Ben Haenow's new song?

Ben Haenow is low top 10 on iTunes but isn't anywhere near as high on Spotify so his single might even miss the top 20 this coming Friday if it goes into free fall from today onwards. He will be performing on the first live show of X Factor which could give him a boost in a couple of weeks time.

One Direction are still #2 on iTunes but decreasing with each update - they're still far ahead of Jamie Lawson at #3 but again if the song continues to free fall in daily sales, they might be low top 10 on iTunes by the end of the week. Perfect is top 20 on Spotify though so this new single should make the UK top 10 but I doubt they will be #1 now. It's KDA's for the taking now it's #1 on iTunes.

The moment I heard it it, it reminded me of Swift's Style, it is like a response song.

Though, somebody made a clip where it shows that the chorus melodically is also very very similar to that song:

It is a decent song but again, nothing special. It is obvious the song didn't grab a lot of attention, definitely less than the lead single since it is after 3 days just no. 1 in 18 countries.

I'm surprised Take That are so low, I thought their fans would be excited by the new song.

Wow!

Listening to Style and Perfect together, they both sound the same. No wonder I like it so much!

My friends do say every song I like sounds the same so subconsciously I must have known!

Aww I hope so - he deserves it to perform well in the charts.
