Tapeworm in Cats
So, I got a broad spectrum de-wormer from the vet the other day as one of my cats has quite a swollen stomach, and we think he is/was suffering from tapeworm.
It's been 48 hours and I reckon the swelling is getting 'softer' but hasn't gone by any stretch of the imagination. If the problem was tapeworm, how long would it be before his appearance returns to normal? Just for the record he's suffering no other symptoms and seems perfectly happy and content, although if the swelling doesn't go down within another week we'll take him to the vet for a check-up. |

If no one replies (its not something I've had experiance of, luckily) give the vets a call tomorrow, I'm sure they won't mind.
The symptoms of tapeworm is their eggs in the faeces iirc - they look like grains of rice. |

A swollen belly usually means roundworm, in the case of tapeworm the cat tends to lose weight, I was just going to ask the forum what's the bet cure for tapeworm, I've tried the Bob Martin spot on but it didn't work.

Don't use Bob Martin for anything. It's utter rubbish.
Might cost more but go to the vets and ask them for stuff. Costs more but far more effective. |

The treatment he's had is a single dose of Milbemax which was prescribed by the vet. Apparently it should be strong enough and supposedly eradicates both roundworm and tapeworm.
He was treated on Thursday but his stomach is still swollen Regardless of which type of worms it is, does anybody know if that's normal 4 days after treatment?Starting to worry something else more serious is wrong with him
