Was there a technical problem right at the end of the show?

My Freeview HD signal broke up in the last few minutes, I grabbed the remote to compare with Freeview SD and that seemed the same but it came back before I could check any other channels. Probably just the local Freeview transmitter but wondered if it was over a wider area.

Yes, there was - the public announcer apologised for it just after Strictly finished.

There was a slight loss of picture for everyone right at the end, I don't know if it was that.

(there was also an issue with the sound on BBC One HD at the start. Good night, huh?)

It was completely unacceptable and I lodged a complaint with Ofcom

It was only on the satellite feed for BBC One HD, I switched to BBC One HD NI (randomly) and it was fine. Weird.

Yeah production wise it was messy tonight Had the sound up super high and then BAM it comes back to normal and deafens me

My transmitter is Pontop Pike and it suffered from the sound problem. Like everyone else, I turned it up to compensate and almost blew up my soundbar when it righted itself a few minutes later. I wouldn't go as far as lodging a complaint. The finest broadcast quality available is consistently to be found on the Beeb. I think we can forgive a very occasional lapse, as I'm sure this was.

It came back just before the first dance started.

Oh! Thank goodness! I have just watched it on Sky+ and thought there was something wrong with my Sky receiver!

I couldn't sleep so I think I woke everyone in the house at 6am this morning with the volume so high!😄😄

Thanks, I missed the announcement though possible that Glasgow did not make the announcement.

Freeview HD has problems with low sound volume for ages, various excuses are given and it does not affect as many programmes as it did a few years ago but Strictly Come Dancing seems to be suffer from the problem regularly. Channel 4 HD used to be worse because the adverts would be at normal volume which meant you had to mute the audio as soon as the adverts started but I hardly ever watch Channel 4 so don't know if things have changed.

This was not restricted to Freeview HD, it also affected BBC one HD on Sky apparently.

Why?

It was a technical fault, nothing more nothing less. The BBC was not trying to rig the result.

BBC Scotland was running slightly later than the rest of the BBC network. Perhaps the signal takes longer to reach Scotland.

Yes the issue cleared during Anita's routine - we thought it was because we had recorded it and our Sky box was faulty and we missed the announcement at the end after the sound and picture broke up. Report to Ofcom? - Come on, these things happen - it's a live broadcast when all said and done.

What we should be complaining about is the lack of HD sound (Dolby Digital) on Sundays. I cannot think why this should be so, given the recording is done on the Saturday which is in HD sound. Sundays really do not sound as good and they should do!

No problems at the beginning of the show with sound or anything else. The picture froze for a matter of seconds during the last minute of the show - a technical fault that was apologised for.

On virgin media, TiVo.

My HD sound was low from the very start until the first dance, I put the sound up, then it boomed in on the start of the first dance. Note at the end of Doctor Who the SCD Trekker, all lines are closed watch results on Sunday also was very low in sound. Seems a feed issue on HD only.

Yes as the keep dancing titles started there was a slight jump in the picture, it was restored and there was an apology.

All minor and all out if the way of the main show and dancing, remember it's live and the feed can go.
