Was there a technical problem right at the end of the show?

Yes as the keep dancing titles started there was a slight jump in the picture, it was restored and there was an apology.

All minor and all out if the way of the main show and dancing, remember it's live and the feed can go.”

That is characteristic of the fault with HD sound, it will suddenly go up to normal level for a few seconds then back to low. Been happening for years, lots of people have complained but always told that it is their fault even though it happens on a range of equipment and various HD services.

They kept the technical issue on the IPlayer. You'd have thought someone would have cut that out before uploading it.

I think SCD may have overrun by a minute or two yesterday.

Maybe certain equipment is automatically programmed to switch off at a certain point. It did feel as if someone had 'pulled the plug' as it is what tends to happen to my satellite dish in very heavy rain, but someone was then able to reinstate the signal within about 5 seconds.

Dr Who was meant to be at 8.20, but Strictly didn't finish till about 8.23, so probably something automatically cutting off.

As a lot of people don't seem to like Louise Rainbow let's chalk it down as one against her (if running late should have anticipated automatic cut off might kick in, and taken steps to over ride it).

SCD can and does overrun regularly, a two hour live show with judges comments, star comments will run over, it's not ITV so automatic AD breaks etc will not kick in ( when a goal is scored), it was the feed from Borehamwood it had issues.

Yes- It felt like the feed from Borehamwood was cut for 5 seconds (as in- the programme should be over now. Easy enough to avoid if you remember you are running late)

That isn't quite the same thing as an unwanted advert break on ITV, or Red Bee media (responsible for BBC continuity) automatically jumping in with a trailer or announcement) So- it wasn't 'head office' (BBC continuity) cutting the feed before the programme finished- it was 'local' (Borehamwood) but it had a 'the plug has been pulled' feel about it

No, we have Freeview hd and the sound was *way* down for the first maybe 10 minutes. Appalling really.

The picture breakup at the end was on SD as well, on Freeview at least.

Shock, horror, a slight fault on a live transmission. It happens people, get over it and move on.

Well the sound came back to normal before the first couple even started their dance, it was just usual introductions, which I really did not miss

10 minutes! I have told you a million times before about exaggerating, the sound was low only until the first couple took to the dance floor.

Yes it was Borehamwood end, post Doctor Who proved it, some trailers with normal sound then Tess on, and quite again, the Casualty on normal sound levels. So it was the feed.

Just watch the news, you will see things that are genuinely appalling. A small technical fault isn't in that category.

Back in the seventies and eighties our aerial was pointed at the Oxford repeater. The occasional nasty thunderstorm and telly was just white snow for the rest of the evening.

Then there were the power-cuts; no telly but we had candles and a real fire to boil water for tea.Bit of an adventure when you're a lad,but a bit dull compared to crossing the Med in an inflatable boat

I had the same sound problem for the first 5 minutes in Freesat HD as well.

Did anyone else find the sound went briefly out of sync with the pictures half way through? It was while the judges was talking, and upstairs with Claudia for about 20 seconds, then it righted itself.

I had the sound of X-factor and the picture of X-factor, what the hell kind of a technical problem was that? I think the taste of my box is broken.
