Bit of a lame conspiracy theory.

In that case, her feet seem to have a conspiracy against the rest of her body.

For there to be a conspiracy there needs to be something to conspire against and in this case, their isn't. She simply can't dance very well.

Kirsty's got lots of muscle for a woman... it just seems they're made of wood

She looks as if she should be an excellent dancer - as did Rachel Riley in her year. Unfortunately, she isn't - although, to be fair, she has had her moments.

It looked as if they had a fit, that music seemed completely unrelated to what they were doing. Updated music seldom works with Paso for me, or tango for that matter.

I must admit that when Carol and Pasha's 'Paso' music started, I imagined Kirsty seething in the background thinking "that shoulda been me"

She was right when she said to the judges that the music encourages the aggression you need for a dance like that.

Having said that - she's not very good really.

All the more she needed the traditional music. As a beginner she did not need one more challenge to deal with.

Sadly she doesn't come across as very likeable. She also seems to look bewildered at the judges scores. So IMHO she won't have the public on side

I agree with all the posters, but how the blazes can you dance an aggressive Paso to one
telling you it's a beautiful day!! I think even the lovely Brendan must have found this hard!

Ok, so what do the the producers/BBC have to gain by signing her up then conspiring against her? Or did your train of thought not travel that far?

I'm quite pleased she said it.

We all know the pros can't bitch about it given they want to come back, but if the celebs start criticising the music "their pro was given" like Anthony and Kirsty it could possibly bring about a change.

I think they should take the pros suggestions except when there are too many traditional songs or repetitions. And then the pro should still be involved with choosing the replacement.

Kirsty and Brendan have had some bad music and theming - and some good.

Unfortunately most of the pairings get some, so we can't say for sure if there was a reason other than incompetence.

I think the PTB do like to feel like they are in control of as much as practical, so music, theming, VTs and judges scoring are all possible tools to use.

They're possibly my least favourite couple but they have had a bit of a raw deal the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully it will even out.

BBC need to fire that micromanaging freak whoever that is. I can understand they want an interesting mix of songs, but for dances like Paso or tango they need to choose more appropriate songs. It can be challenging for pro dancers to make it work, let alone to a celeb beginner. Or have the songs adapted to the dance like they did for Jamelia's Charleston. I did not find that bad at all.

The producers gave them a terrible song, especially for a celeb lacking in confidence. We've seen fewer bad music choices this series than in recent years, but it was hard luck for Kirsty and Brendan. Just a good old bad production decision, not a conspiracy.

I think the music is chosen for the couples before they start the competition.
TPTB probably thought she was going to be a lot better than she actually is.
Last week Brendan said he had asked for the dog dance as originally it had been allocated to Anthony and Ola but they were already out.

No conspiracy at all, stupid choice of music but par for the programme

I don't know who picked Beautiful Day to perform a paso to but it was a big mistake, I mean it's a crap song the best of times but a paso number, come on? Truth is though Kirsty just isn't very good. No conspiracy.

Well exactly, and I doubt Kirsty would have agreed to this conspiracy of being a bad dancer if she had had a choice.

In fairness bad costumes, poor songs choices or annoying props have gone to other unlucky pairs too, so they're not a unique couple in getting the short end of things. Good dancing couples have danced through bad song choices, so Kirsty and Brendan as a worse dancing couple are not alone.

Well, considering that last week's dance was supposed to be for Ewan and Ola, and according to themselves on ITT, Brendan and Kirsty snagged it when it became free - they are also conspiring against themselves

To be fair the music being crap a lot of the time + stupid costumes being issued is a problem for most of them . So it's hardly a conspiracy against K & B .
The thing is that Kirsty ticks all the boxes on paper , but is rubbish on the actual dance floor .
She learns all the moves, but when she dances the routine each move looks individual , with a few seconds delay between them while she rallies herself for the next one. It's all so disjointed and there is no flow . It's very odd and staccato, but in a bad staccato way . She just looks all wrong in every dance . Bless her , she tries, but really should just do gymnastics or something .
On the plus side she looks gorgeous and has a great physique .

Well, I think everything about this reality show is a bit of a "conspiracy." They want to trip couples up sometimes and that's why they have stupid music while others have good music. They give some couples good costumes and others crappy ones. They put them in helpful or hurtful positions in the running order - with so many couples, the ones that perform very early are of course hurt by that when it comes to voting. And they don't spread the positions around fairly - they decide the running order based on an agenda. Even the comments the judges make and the marks they give, I believe are discussed in advance and are part of the agenda (or "conspiracy" if you like) of the producers.

Also the VTs - some are flattering, some are heart-tugging, some are negative. And the dance offs! That's another way they can control the outcome of the show - they use many many techniques to have people leave or stay, according to how the producers want the show to proceed (they even figure in the tour - they'll give extra help to the ones who they sign up for the tour - and they won't to those who aren't going on the tour - Pixie's a good example from last year), and on and on... I'm sure I'm forgetting a dozen other ways they have to influence the outcome - and I'm sure there are dozens of ways I have never even thought of. James Jordan even claims the BBC leaks stories to the press and if so, it's another method to control how things turn out.

Reality shows are rigged, to an extent. All of them. Even X-Factor

JMHO YMMV etc...
