I suppose the pros have very little (or none) input over songs and themes now compared to the beginning of the programme. I remember a VT of Vincent and Louisa where she said she didn't like the song he had chosen that week so she suggested another one and they went along with that. I think it was "Let's Hear It For The Boy" for their samba, but I'm glad to be corrected.

Having said all that, doesn't this show has a head choreographer to oversee if the song choices match the dances?

We have a head choreographer to see that popular music is inserted into the program at every opportunity since the public won't appreciate anything else (supposedly).

So there is a conspiracy.

Is there anyone on the show this year who doesn't either have a conspiracy against them or in favour of them?

I'm starting to think I'll need to get the tinfoil hat on to watch the rest of the series, just in case.

Conspiracy? Whatever for?

No one cares, and she can't dance. She's even hard to like.

End of.

It's very strange , but between conspiracy theories and gutter press reports this season has gone weird compared to other years . Usually you get maybe three or four celebs and pros getting outed or accused of stuff , but this year everyone is being hung out to dry for something or other .
In the end I'd rather focus on their dance routines ,on set interviews and vts and leave the gossip to those who like that sort of thing .

I find it really, really hard to believe any pro would choose that particular U2 track for a paso doble.

Brendan's been quite happy to say before when something's not been his idea (eg everything about Victoria's paso doble) so I'm fairly sure this is straight up. I can't imagine being so passive aggressive as to complain (twice) about the song your pro partner chose whilst he's stood right there. Before I thought she was just whiny but now...

It is surprising. I honestly assumed she was voicing Brendan's thoughts as well as her own as he can't really speak out against production

Maybe he really does hate dancing with her and therefore he's really conspiring against himself?

I didn't hate the music choice, tbh. I just don't think she danced it well.

Beautiful day is a total damp squib of a "rock" song. If you're going to go rock you need something with a bit more balls than that.

I usually agree with Brendan but it was a horrible horrible choice.

Ah but Brendan loves his "soft rock". Which has about as much oomph as a mobility scooter needing a battery charge.

Well, I'm proper astonished! I really thought they'd been stitched up by the producers. Puts my paranoia back in its cupboard ... till the next song list is announced.

How gutting is it how much we all whine about the pros not being allowed to pick the music, then when they do it's even worse than what the producers give them.

They should let ME pick the music. Only logical conclusion.

Well, I think everything about this reality show is a bit of a "conspiracy." They want to trip couples up sometimes and that's why they have stupid music while others have good music. They give some couples good costumes and others crappy ones. They put them in helpful or hurtful positions in the running order - with so many couples, the ones that perform very early are of course hurt by that when it comes to voting. And they don't spread the positions around fairly - they decide the running order based on an agenda. Even the comments the judges make and the marks they give, I believe are discussed in advance and are part of the agenda (or "conspiracy" if you like) of the producers.

Also the VTs - some are flattering, some are heart-tugging, some are negative. And the dance offs! That's another way they can control the outcome of the show - they use many many techniques to have people leave or stay, according to how the producers want the show to proceed (they even figure in the tour - they'll give extra help to the ones who they sign up for the tour - and they won't to those who aren't going on the tour - Pixie's a good example from last year), and on and on... I'm sure I'm forgetting a dozen other ways they have to influence the outcome - and I'm sure there are dozens of ways I have never even thought of. James Jordan even claims the BBC leaks stories to the press and if so, it's another method to control how things turn out.

Reality shows are rigged, to an extent. All of them. Even X-Factor

JMHO YMMV etc...

Kirsty's comments might be getting taken out of context - I seem to recall her saying that the song wasn't right for an aggressive performance when the judges said that was what she should have done.

On the other hand, maybe her and Brendan really don't like each other? I wouldn't be that surprised, but I would have expected him to play up if she had moaned about his own music choice.

I still think it was a crap idea either way!

I'm sure Kirsty and Brendan do like each other, but all I'm saying is that don't be surprised when he chooses the Birdie Song for a Viennese Waltz next week...

Oh, I do love a good conspiracy theory!

It would be nice if DS could actually come up with one

Everyone in the dance-off this week was white. Is Strictly Come Dancing racist?

It's her facial expressions when the Judges are giving their comments. I don't think she can take criticism. Also there is very little oomph in her performance. At times she seems lifeless with Brendan dragging her around.

In the world of DS, any kind of skin colour issue can fall into the category of "It is known" rather than 'conspiracy'.

However, if you want a conspiracy theory, there must be some scope in "An Irishman, an Anglo-Scotswoman, a Kiwi and a Russian bird walked into a dance-off..."

Or that might just be a really bad joke.
