The reason he's inconsistent is that he's talented but not a ringah.

I laughed like a drain at this thread - the idea that he's some mega professional level dancer with the acting chops of Olivier and some dastardly plan made me imagine he has a white Persian somewhere in his secret lair.

I can't believe someone started this thread. What an insult to Jay and Alionna.

I don't believe any of the Strictly pro dancers would go along with such an idea and, as others have said, how good an actor would Jay have to be to carry it out and then look so upset?

He is human, he is NOT a trained dancer despite many people's accusations and he had a difficult routine. He went wrong, probably panicked and then could not get back into it correctly. Even a pro dancer can go wrong.

I felt sorry for him, he was obviously upset. I also thought the judges were very harsh. Yes he went wrong but they scored him too low

Remember Matt Di Angelo forgetting two of his dances? Remember Mark Ramprakash and his rumba? It happens all the time! Even Ian Waite fell over in one of his dances early on.

My son trained for several years to be a Technical Illustrator and on the day of his long exam (8 hours) he came down with the most awful cold. Nothing he could do about it but it affected his results.

Me too, but there will always be certain people who pick on Jay whatever the poor guy does. Fortunately that mistake (which I never even noticed) should not prevent him getting safely through this evening.

I find the idea that Jay deliberately made mistakes in his routine ridiculous.

What I find surprising, is that despite some great performances last night (Georgia and Katie) Jay is topping the poll on here this week having made so many mistakes? :/

Look at his body language when Claudia is showing the judges marks at the end of the sow and Jay is near the bottom - he's afraid he'll be in the dance off.

He nearly cried after that 10 and said he 'didn't want to cry in front of people'. He didn't want to cry this time.

It's probably people who are tweeters, FBers and ppl who post in the comments section in daily mail online who vote for jay in the fave poll. Twitter know a big fat zero in dance terms.

It's a pretty daft assertion to be honest. Yes he made some mistakes, and after last week's jive expectations were sky high, but it wasn't that bad. If you look at everybody who have ever done well though they were never brilliant every week, there's always at least a couple of times when they disappointed.

I think it's also a shame that the judges didn't comment on how well he got himself back into it.

When the females go wrong the male pros can manoeuvre them around to get them back into position. (And in some cases we've pretty much seen them pick them up and move them)

Aliona could do nothing but pause and wait for Jay to pick it back up as there's not a chance at that speed she can manoeuvre him back into it.

It was just timing and a slip. I think if he'd gotten that right it would've been another great night for him.

This is one of the crazier conspiracy theory, contestant bashing thread's that I've seen. 'He faked having a bad night!' If that is the case, that he deliberately put himself off timing and slipped we should just let him win now cause that's talent!

Perhaps people just vote for their favourite couple regardless of their performance on the night. Jay's performance would have been good without the mistakes so his supporters know he will no doubt be great in other dances but he is not infallible.

Exactly. But no more bizarre than some on here who are claiming they couldn't see any mistakes and it all looked great. He had major mistiming issues on the night in a fairly complex routine which he couldn't recover from.

If you think about it, it's quite sad really.

It's Denise van Outen all over again - the celeb's most vocal detractors are the ones making the most overblown claims about what a great and perfect and amazing dancer their target is. In reality he's had one mediocre cha cha that showed promise, one good waltz with posture and performance issues, one amazing jive, and a mess of a quickstep.

How patronising - I have seen every episode of strictly and also have been to see a lot of dance at the theatre too. I have also watched a lot of reality tv and it is not a shock that someone does something to manipulate the audience. Didn't you read what Tom Jones said about the voice another BBC show, it does happen.

Actually what is sad is that someone can't see to have an opinion without everyone being so rude. It is my opinion and that is the point of a forum, that people voice different opinions, whether you like it not. Of course give your disagreeing opinion, you don't have to call it sad, it us just different to yours.
