Song Choices
The song choice can have quite an effect on the dance and it seems unfair that some are given better/more suitable music to others.
I wonder how it would work if the pros could pick their own music for their dance? I can see some disadvantages (some pros may not know as many tunes as others, or they may find it too much work/eat into their precious time when they should be choreographing/teaching intead. Maybe they could come to the show, having already chosen their music for the dances? I think at the very least, the pros should be given a choice of one or two songs, rather than being given a song that neither likes or is very hard to dance to. What do you think? |

I find it irritating when the music hardly matches the dance, or is generally inappropriate.
It happens every year and I think it influences the appearance of the dance and probably the eventual marks. A jive to "Splish, Splash", is only going to be a comedy routine and most of the dramatic Latin dances get some 2015 pop song. |

Particularly dire music last night. The producers just want entertainment no matter how naff it is.

I hope more of the celebs bitch about the music their pros are given. The pros can't really complain if they want to come back so maybe if the celebs start bitching a change may come about?
The show managed perfectly well for years with the pros being in charge of artistry. |

We do this every year, "Rainbow Worrier," is concerned about ratings.
She's chasing the X-Factor audience, if to attract them she has to choose some dire contemporary tunes then she will. We always get the, "the contestants choose the music." We know that, but it's always, "Hobson's choice." In one or two tunes, I was struggling to find the beat. Mind you I wasn't on my own, given some of the clapping, so was the audience. |
