I think Tess and Claudia are great. I think Claudia got the job as she went down well when she was filling in for Bruce (who I was glad to see the back of tbh). Long may Tess and Claudia continue!

So 2 male presenters would be OK.
It's ok with Ant & Dec but I don't see how that's relevant to this thread. Unless people on the IACGMOOH board have threads saying 'let's bin Ant and bring in a woman because two men can't host a prime time TV show successfully.' Which is effectively what the OP is trying to say about two women here.

Sorry to offend claudia fans but we really need a male and female presenting duo of SCD. Tess is fine, but claudia is starting to irritate the hell out of me. Seems to me the people at the top were too lazy to find a male presenter so went with the tried and trusted option of tess and Claudia. I believe this is the reason why SCD isn't winning at the NTAs anymore. When we had a male and female presenting duo we had NTA trophies, I'd like those good old days to return, but with a male presenter that is suitable for the role.
It doesn't need to be a male/female presenting duo. Two females work just fine as Tess and Zoe proved last year. We just need a presenting duo that doesn't include Claudia.

Perhaps they can have one of the dancers sashay past in a giant penis costume to achieve a similar effect for less money.

I don't think we need a male/female combination but, I do feel that Tess should rein it in a bit. For the first time since she took over from Bruce she irritated me last night. She was too loud and talked/shouted over everyone, there was a point when I noticed that even Len raised an eyebrow when she gave her opinion on a dance.

What a chauvanistic suggestion that two women cannot host a dance show and "need" a man. The two most popular shows with the highest ratings on BBC, Strictly and Bake Off, are hosted by two women and have proven that they are very capable at their job and viewers obviously like watching them. The show runs much more smoothly with Tess and Claudia than it did with Bruce.

No, we don't need a male and female presenter.

Tess and Claud are fine.
Especially when you look at the names of the male presenters who are always put forward on here.

Judging by the times the spoiler is coming in lately, Tess must be making few mistakes compared to Bruce. Admittedly she is not the most natural of presenters & would be better sticking to her script rather than over talking the judges, small issue, easily sorted.

As for the NTA awards. http://www.nationaltvawards.com/ Get voting!
I have always thought of the National TV Awards as the ITV awards, ITV sponsors them and they are always shown on ITV. I presume they are heavily promoted on ITV programmes. It's nice for a BBC programme like Strictly Come Dancing to get one of their awards but it is unusual.

XF is " dead" dead as the parrot on the Monty Python sketch, down from the highs if 14/19 million to 7 million, and falling more. It's last it's sell by date, over milked, over bloated with filler, all about the judges, not about the talent, each week we see Cheryl crying. It's a pantomime, and most of the viewing public know it and left it.
Has XF not rose slightly over the last few Sundays

If true then I don't know why - I still really enjoy XF normally but this elongated chair challenge is so close to making me switch off. It's dire. Roll on live shows.

He is still a legend, even though his jokes were a bit corny to say the least, I've heard that he struggled to work in a warm studio and thought the light was too bright for him at times. He still served well, but in fairness he should have semi retired sooner than later. Presenting is a very stressful job and Sir Bruce even though I made numerous threads that were anti Bruce, deep deep down I regretted making them. I shouldn't have made them about an elderly gentleman like him, no matter how he grated on me.
Mind, it's a relief all round that you've got over your tendency to make numerous threads 'anti' a particular aspect of the show, for sure ...

It has been tricky for XF with the Rugby but they have squeezed 6 chair challenge into 3 eps im sure it is usually 4 but that would be over 2 weeks rather than 3 weeks

This 'we' doesn't.
This 'we' is just fine with how things are.

I can't envisage a male presenter at the moment who has enough clout, charisma, and is competent enough to take over the main presenter role. Maybe Graham Norton but he is very marmite, some people love him, some people definitely don't.

" slightly" is a very good word, no were near past years, SCD bests it easily now, when head to head.

If you add in Catch up, HD, +1, repeats, and Simons ego, then yes it rose slightly. Scrapping the barrel to get there though.

Pleas please please can we stop these endless prolific anti this anti that threads all started by a few.

Tess and Claudia present it, - end of.

The show is the top light entertainment programme on TV no changes required.

Look at X Factor where they tinker with presenters and ratings go off a cliff.

Why do people think there has to be a male/female duo for a show to have a better balance. If the same sex pair work well together, what's the issue.

Mel & Sue.
Ant & Dec.

If they're compatible, it shouldn't matter their gender. It's the chemistry between presenters that matter, not their genitals.

If you have an issue with the female individual, then fair enough, but why the need to replace her with a male and not just another female. Bruce was awful, so being male is not default for being a better partner for a female (or vice versa for a male).

I thought we did win one NTA with Claudia. Or maybe it was just another silly award as the NTAs are. Also, if we did win an NTA with Bruce as presenter,I doubt he was the main reason, but more the couples celebs and pros. Bruce has been going downhill in popularity over the years when he was still on, so the idea he could be the secret weapon to winning an NTA is just silly. I don't vote for the NTAs and there are prob plenty of other strictly fans that could do but don't get round to it.

No one is bothered that there is a gender imbalance with the judges, so why get your briefs in a twist about there being two female presenters.
Very well put, and agree. I love Tess and Claudia, not so fond of the sexist comments that are made on occasions, but baby steps and a lot better than other shows over the years. It's the 21st century and time to move away from the gender norms of yesteryear.

I have yet to see a convincing reason as to why there needs to be a male presenter for Strictly. As long as the two presenters have different yet complementary styles, as Tess and Claudia do, then they're on to a winner.

Personally I could happily do without Tess, the impression I get is fluff with little substance. I get Claudia's quirkiness which I think is refreshing in comparison with Tess' blandness. My preference would be for Graham Norton to be the main presenter and Claudia doing the "Len's lens" type things and interviewing the celebs after their dance. However, I know there is absolutely no chance of ever getting GN, but I would never settle for a low grade alternative like Tess' husband Vernon Kay. Also, I see no problem with two female presenters if the only alternative is rubbish like Kay.

Anton for the Brucie spot next year hopefully .
Tess can be his sidekick and Claudia can do the balcony stuff , which she is so good at .

I'm more than happy with the Tess/ Claudia presenting team.

With Tess in charge we get to hear all the judges commenting on every dancer and the show never seems as rushed as it did when Bruce was there insisting on shoehorning in his "jokes" and catchphrases, and bumbling over the script because his vanity wouldn't allow him to wear his glasses to read his autocue, nor wear an earpiece to allow the producers to keep him on time.

I wouldn't want to see a change any time soon - unless of course Anton were to replace Len as Head Judge!

Peter just brown nosing again.

Tess and Claudia are doing a sterling job, long may they continue.
She made a crack about "him being human.." while he was being warm

She's a cold fish

No, she didn't. When Peter said she didn't like being hugged, she agreed and said she didn't like hugs or humans. It was fairly typical Claudia tbh.

I don't see any need for either of them to be replaced. Tess is bland because she's presenting a show where she is not the star. She doesn't try to be anything other than the presenter, and she doesn't need to. It seems to me that she knows it isn't about her, and she's just fine with that.

The idea that a light entertainment show needs a man to come in and take control is just ridiculous.

He was terrible when I was young and forced to watch the Generation Game and a myriad of other woeful Saturday evening "entertainment" programs. He was even more woeful when this began. Male/female presenters is outdated, as someone else mentioned... I would get shot of the current script writer and get someone better but Tess and Claude are just fine.

By the way the Victorian age called for you... They'd like their principles back...
