That was Jennys worst final chase yet.

Not really. Most of the questions she didn't get were either questions before her time or tough medical questions.
Yeah like John Cryer is in 3 and a half men. The world and his mother knows George Lazenby made only 1 Bond movie. She's just poor under pressure.

Surely she wont come back for another series? she is really no better than a good contestant.
Well, today she was worse than 4 terrible contestants.

She did take out all four contestants to be fair. I like her, but I kind of wanted her to lose, as it might stop people being so unfairly critical of Shaun from now on.

As a top quizzer she is still expected to have a good knowledge of a wide range of subjects, and she knows what sort of questions are likely to get asked on The Chase, so not really an excuse.

In the early days of The Chase, Shaun was very strong. He seems to be coming back to his former glory now, after quite a number of poor performances.

I think Jenny needs to be replaced. When ever she is on I expect the team to win, but to lose to 4 rubbish contestants when the target was just 12, that is embarrassing.

Yesterday's question on the Jewish months of the year was brilliant. Quizmasters should be adding that to their list of questions.

To be fair to Jenny, she's still bedding in as she has only done a handful of games and only joined the show mid-series, when the others have been there for years

Had a feeling they would roll her out today seeing the chasers have been on top form lately, and so was she to begin with today until that final chase disaster

Hopefully she will get on a winning streak soon and the W column will look a bit more healthier before the end of this particular series

I agree. I think Jenny should be given a fair go.
Besides, what happened to her has also happened to Paul (twice) and Anne, so it's not a one-off.

Were they chasing a score of 12?

Jenny lost to someone who couldn't even remember which set of questions they had chosen.

We also don't know the order they're showing the episodes.

ITV will think that by showing so many loses for Jenny early on will get the press talking.

For all we know, she could've filmed 50 episodes and only lost 10 altogether, they might just have shown them in an odd order.

She has said as much on her Twitter account that the episodes are not being shown in any particular order, and that they are rationing out her appearances as she is the 'new girl on the block'

On today's performance she was nowhere near even good contestant level. Yes, she beat them all in the head to heads, but that was one of the weakest teams you're likely to see - and her performance in the final chase against an extremely weak contestant who put her under zero pressure was pitiful

I agree that, unless she's already contracted for a second series, it's hard to see her being asked back.

Well, she's confirmed on her Twitter that she is currently filming new episodes. The episodes we're seeing were filmed quite a few months ago I'm guessing. It does seem unlikely somehow that she'd still be coming back for filming, and still on the ITV payroll, if her current stats were a refelctive of her overall performance for S9. My guess is that they are trying to build a kind of narrative for her here,in the way that they're shuffling the episodes around, whereby she bounces back in the end. I'd be absolutely staggered if they kept her around for this long if she's really as bad as she seems right now. Might just be wishful thinking though. I really don't want to see her fail as a chaser. She seems to be taking the cristicism quite hard as well ( see Twitter)

Personally, I would rather see chasers who lose occasionally, like real human beings. Otherwise, it's not interesting.

Is this the first time 4 losers have won the final chase?

Surely, its 26 players, that take the field in a rugby league match, not 13. It would be a bit one sided.

All this Jenny - bashing is a bit unfair. After all, we have only seen her on a handful of occasions to date. When she has done about fifty, we should be in a better position to judge her. Let's face it, most of her detractors know a lot less than her. I certainly don't possess her considerable general knowledge. On today's show she dismissed four contestants and came very close to winning the final chase. Give the poor girl a chance!

Is anyone watching The Chase Australia on Challenge TV? I missed the first episode yesterday, but it appears it will be repeated on Saturday evening. I caught today's episode (ep 2) at 9pm, in which the chaser was Issa Schultz aka The Supernerd! Each ep will be repeated at 3pm next day.

There are 4 other chasers, 2 of whom will be very familiar: Matt Parkinson, Bryan Coverdale, Anne Hegerty and Mark Labbett.

The format is exactly the same, except (I think - I will check when I watch the next episode) after the Cashbuilder round the contestant decides straightaway which offer they will take, without asking the others what they think as happens in the UK show.

I missed Jenny's performance in the final chase as I was so bored with this programme I fully expected Jenny to win without any trouble, having defeated all 4 contestants already, and retired to my kitchen! I will have a look at it on Catch up TV.

When Jenny was 1 away from the target and the 'occipital' question came up, my immediate thought was, well that's it then, everyone knows 'occipital' is the brain ...
well, how wrong can you be !

actually, It crossed my mind the production team match the teams to the chaser, and that maybe that team was expected to lose to Jenny, maybe to improve her stats ?

anyway,
just love to see Bradley's expression when the contestant makes one of their 'educated guesses' to pretty std general knowledge questions

That show started in Australia late last year and to begin with Anne was the only UK Chaser. Mark joined this year.

He did well.

What will she be offered? Mark has made some serioulsy big minus offers in the past when there's a decent sum in the pot.

-£8k?
