Maisie might have known some of the pop culture ones like Basshunter, Little Mix and Jennifer Hudson (I would have got all three of those). And then there's the additional step. The -£3K was the most sensible option for the whole team and not just Maisie. Better to win 25% of £51,000 than 0% of £54,000. Just a shame she didn't get through, because they almost certainly would have won otherwise.

She's a Scot, isn't she? How do Scots say 'Foster'?”

If I had been there I would have insisted on a stewards enquiry...to be penalised for your accent is just stupid and it cost them the game. Even more so given BW's atrocious pronunciation on some questions

Indeed, it doesn't make any sense to suggest they would have been better without her. She was brave enough to go for the lower offer and it almost paid off.

As stated up thread, pretty sure she said "Gloucester" although the subtitles said "Forster".

I wouldn't call it "brave", I would call it "knowing your limitations" (although if she really knew her limitations she wouldn't have applied to be on the show in the first place).

Top line from my mum tonight:

"Isn't it a bit racist, or whatever it is, for them to call that Indian man 'Cinnamon'?
Cinnamon isn't really that colour anyway, and I don't think it comes from India"

Oh dear.

I think it's brave because of the unreasoned criticism that some on here hand out to contestants taking the low offer, going for the middle offer is often quite cowardly - it all depends on the circumstances, sometimes you can make a case for any of the three.

Yes I agree about limited quizzers applying for The Chase but on the other hand her knowledge of modern culture would probably have meant the team winning if she'd got back whereas the last guy although better all round made little difference. If I was a contestant there by myself I'd have picked her to complement me to make the best team rather than any of the others.

Oh we all knew the team wasn't going to win yesterday because it was a team win on Wednesday. The most irritating thing about this otherwise brilliant quiz show is the predictable way they schedule the wins. I wish the producers would make a public pledge that they are showing the episodes in the exact order they record them,

Do you know how they are filmed in terms of Chaser involvement? By this I mean does a Chaser do say five shows in a day or do they all do one or two shows?

If the Chaser does a block then they do need to reorder but if not then I agree that they should show them in recorded order. As you say they shouldn't in any case frig the order to keep Chaser losses separate.

As I didn't see the show I just wondered what the pot was, isn't that the point of the show? As for one of the contestants being a bit eccentric i wouldn't have known would I? I missed the show, nothing to do with priorities just curiosity.

I think it must have been because of the pressure he was thinking in terms of what axis the world is turning around.
Not that the earth spins on an axis called North, but that the pressure made him think of it in that way. Because obviously the vast majority of people know that the earth spins around sideways like a spinning top.

No, she said Forster, and Bradley corrected her by saying the answer is Foster.

In terms of how it's filmed, it's usually 3 Chasers filming an episode each per day. From what I know however it would make the Chaser appearances a bit more predictable if they did them in recording order as I heard in an interview with Anne that they go like this.

Morning block (Anne)
Afternoon block (Mark or Paul)
Evening block (Shaun)

Speaking personally, I don't care about the predictability of which Chaser it is. It's the predictability of the result that irritates me.

And this contradicts what Bradley says; that he never knows which Chaser will becoming ovr the bridge. You rotter liar, Bradley.

”

Although it appears more random now, in earlier series, when there were only 3 or 4 chasers and Bradley asked the first contestant, which chaser they would like, they got that chaser about 90% of the time. Does that mean, the contestants were told what to say when asked?

Just watched it again, and she clearly says Gloucester. Just a straightforward wrong answer - nothing to do with accents or anything. They're on 10 when she says it, in case anyone can't be arsed watching the whole thing.
