Just a pity one of the guys hadn't been there, probably would have known the Juventus colours

Good effort and very unlucky, Anne will be mighty relieved

Unlucky for Jean. Just one second short of a win.

Anne redeemed herself in the end.

No,it has to be black and white, just black wouldn't be a stripe.

Tash's suggestion of "purple" was never going to be correct was it? Thick as mince

What a great chase. Jean is one of the best ever players I've seen, and one of the nicest. Any other Chaser and they might have done it.

Its black stripes on a white shirt, they were right, stripes plural cause there is obviously more than one.

Did Bradley say Colours though, even Anne only gave one colour as her answer.

Obviously you do need at least two colours to form stripes but it could be argued that the shirt is white with black stripes.

I thought he said colour and would have said black as well.

Not at all. If you have a white car and it has a red stripe it has a red stripe. It doesn't have red and white stripes.

If you look at the Juventus strip it is clearly white with black stripes.

Well I would have said black, as I think most here probably would have.
Only because I see white as being colourless, like it's plain, anything on top I'd class as a colour.

However if Bradley did say colours as the plural then I suppose I'd be wrong.
But I see white as an absence of colour in situations such as this.

It was a bit shit that. As if it was a trick question. I wanted them to win as well.

Bradley said colours.

And in what circumstances are the stripes on a football shirt one colour? Newcastle play in back and white stripes, Sunderland play in red and white stripes, Celtic play in green and white stripes.

Bit thick of Anne not to realise, but she did enough to confuse her leaderless opponents.

Absolutely not. If you look at it like that how could you tell whether it is black stripes on white or white stripes on black?

Celtic play in hooped shirts.

The circumstances where the stripes of a shirt are one colour stripes , I would suggest, is when the background colour is a high percentage of the total area of the shirt and is the colour 'underneath' the stripes.

Have you looked at their shirt? It is very white.

The Valencia away kit is yellow and blue with red stripes, not red and yellow stripes.

Because the kit is predominantly white. It has a massive amount of white.

The Juventus strip is one of the most famous in the World and is well known as Black and White stripes of equal width as this link shows.

The plain fact is that he said "colours" (plural) so no contest. Though he could have said "more?" like he does sometimes.

What colour is a zebra?

Yes, that would have been good. Anne said she thought it was a confusing question too in her comments. Just inserting "two" in the question before "colours" would have avoided the confusion.

Indeed, taken from the Notts County strip.

In physics neither black nor white are colours however in everyday speak and referring to human perception they are colours so the question was valid.

The question should really have been worded "two colours" but apart from that it was okay.

Tough break tonight. Ironically, Jean would have been better off playing on her own, than having the extra player, as she would have got a couple of extra questions in with not having to buzz in and wait to be asked the answer
