Presumably they book the studio, Bradley W and A Chaser and record several programmes.

They don't want to show them as a block so they mix them in with other previously-recorded shows to give the appearance of 'random' Chasers.

I've no problem with that.

But they aired this episode on the 3rd of February. Why so soon?

Ah. Oh.

Forget what I said.

Maybe they're getting the episodes mixed up.

The 3rd of February 2016 airing was a different episode, Anne was The Chaser.

I honestly don't think that this was a repeat. This was the episode aired on the 3rd of February according to the Chase YouTube channel (which is verified by ITV themselves)

EDIT: ^Justonecornetto beat me to it.

Albania, Shaun? It could only have been East Germany as Albania left long before 1990 and Yugoslavia was never in it.

It says here that season 9 episode 133 aired on the 3rd February :

http://www.tvguide.co.uk/m-detail/22...6720/the-chase

That's what was listed on my TV guide like yours.

This episode guide says it aired on the 10th February :

They seem to have totally messed up the episodes and aired the wrong one today.

And.............. For someone who LOVES sport!........ How did he get the Virginia Wade question wrong?...... That definitely tells me he throws some of the questions to add to the tension, he looks like he is going to lose and then speeds it up to win with lots of time!.... He does it almost every time he is on!..........

Now it's the new time for The Chase Australia. Looks like they've scrapped the repeat showings of it too. Maybe if they gave it some publicity, they might get some viewers.

Oh I dunno. The episode number was obviously wrong on the EPG but it was still a recent episode today.

I totally agree . I know it's the premise of the game but just hate seeing good players like today walk away with nothing

He's more a football fanatic, out of all other sports his knowledge is stronger in this area.

Not sure, but to add to the confusion, Friday's and today's episodes have been dated 2016 at the end, where as far as I've noticed, they were 2015 before. I've not seen today's before, and watch quite religiously. Sometimes I get the feeling I've seen one before, often down to a contestant looking familiar perhaps from being on another quiz, or from hearing a familiar question.

You're right, they must mix them up, seems inexplicable though. It was very obvious over those few weeks when Jenny was mentioned one show, then didn't exist on the next.

In what way are you not yourself a keyboard warrior drooling and fuming? Like everyone else has said, leaving a question unanswered is the equivalent of getting it incorrect, so you're fooling nobody but yourself.

Perhaps they are trying to make people think these are new episodes because they actually are. This was not a repeat.

A recent episode in the sense that it was first shown at 5pm today!

Just to add, you didn't answer it correctly either, so gets treated the same as an incorrect answer. The semantics are irrelevant in this case, of which you seem the most bothered about. There isn't some kind of purgatory or limbo for passes. You may as well have given your shoe answer- if you "knew" it in some way, it would have been an at least an educated guess and not even a shot in the dark.

I've not watched the Chase very much over the last few weeks but I noticed today that at the end of the player's Final Chase, when they got about nineteen or something, there was a round of applause (by the non-existent studio audience) added in at the end of it. I'm sure I've not heard that before. Must be a new thing.

Yes, really noticed that on today's, but I'm sure it hasn't happened on every recent one. When it happened today, it threw me a bit anyway. I thought it was far too rapturous for 19, and found it funny when the sound guy obviously faded it off too quickly!
