Digestives are nothing like English crackers.
Here, we're talking about American Graham crackers.
Heaven knows why Americans think they speak English. They don't.

Paul shot through those questions

Not much else the player could do

Well that was a COMPLETE polar opposite performance to yesterday's calamity on the same target. Well done Paul!

That was incredibly good by Paul, some tough questions in there but he just rattled right through

There were a couple she missed that a player of her standard should probably have got. The German word "speer", it sounds like spear, and the obvious bit of sports equipment that's like a spear is a javelin. And the flavour of Cheetos, well the clue's in the name. She passed on those two but they were guessable.

But as Paul was on such good form tonight, she'd have had no chance anyway.

Well American muffins are nothing like (English) muffins, that's just what they call them in the US.

I thought his questions were really easy - I got them all no problems and I don't usually.

I was particularly impressed by the "Wayne's World" answer.

In what way is the clue in the name?

That means, according to the people that believe in the Chasers being "on form", or out of form, that you were "on form" as well.

But you weren't. And neither was he. Form had nothing to do with it. You just happened to know the answers to the questions that were asked that day. if the Chasers know the answer to, say, on average, seventy-five percent of the questions they get in the Final Chase, then they don't know the answer to twenty-five per cent of them. And the number of those questions that they don't know the answer to that come up in their Final Chase will largely be a matter of luck. They might get none, or only one or two. Or they might get a whole lot, as happened to Mark the other day. "Form" really has very little to do with it.

But I realise I'm probably wasting my time trying to argue this point.

if the Chasers rattle off ten questions in a row then people are going to say they were on form. And if they get a few wrong then people will say they're off form. And that's it.

Are you serious?

I would imagine 99% would guess cheese.
She missed some incredibly simple, guessable answers but excelled on the more difficult.

If a chaser answers 30 questions in a row then they are on good form and if they get 15 of them wrong they are on bad form. This is a fact and is what 'form' is all about. You cannot dispute it.

How they get that form my be open to conjecture, whether they have easier questions, questions they know, questions that are easier to have a good guess at, etc.

I personally strongly believe that the brain is a muscle that (figuratively) and needs warming and can have better days than others. The Chasers are not machines and the answers have to be plucked from somewhere, and some days it is easier than others.

Don't believe me? Try this small experiment.
Assuming you don't normally keep score for darts matches , volunteer to score a few games down your local pub. If fast easy subtraction is not something you normally do than you will not be fluid in it and it will take you about ten minutes to warm up and get your brain into it.

Of course I am serious. I know what Cheetos are but if I didn't then I would guess they are a breakfast cereal.

Why would you guess that?

The question was 'What is the original flavour of snack food Cheetos?'

Why would you not guess cheese?

You need to listen, both figuratively and literally.

I thought exactly the same, 2 guessable answers, but as you say would not have made a difference

I will never understand why people keep going on about the Chasers being "on form" or "out of form". To me it's meaningless to talk about "form" on a quiz show.”

Also agree,
I'm thinking maybe the producers are suggesting this as something they can say
Anyone who has been on the show care to confirm this ?

Well, I didn't know what they are but as soon as the question was asked, I assumed the answer was cheese. I certainly didn't think they were cheetah flavoured!
