How do the visually impaired players know which buttons to press?

I don't believe they change position. That would be harsh.

Hi Lizzie, would you believe me if I told you I was only 37?

Wee bit of a struggle to start off with but good recovery by Anne.

Well I was! OK, I'm not now, but I was. You see, I chose my words very carefully.

Good team today, they could well have won. They underperformed a bit in the final chase. There were a couple that were quickly passed that weren't that difficult, or at least would have been worth a guess.

Two of my least favourite Chase phrases made an appearance in the first ten minutes.

"I'll take the middle offer because we don't know what form Anne's on today."

Well, unless she's half asleep, has a raging hangover, or is drugged up to the eyeballs, none of which I think is very likely, I can provide the answer to that question. She will be on the same form she is every day. She will know the answer to most of the questions she gets asked. Some of them she will not know the answer to, and this will be almost entirely down to what questions she gets asked on the day, which is a completely random element over which she has no control. She is not going to suddenly forget the chemical symbol for Potassium or the year of the Battle of Blenheim because she's "out of form".

The other meaningless phrase that gets trotted out is "Don't take the lower offer, that's an insult."

To whom is it an insult? it's the lower offer. It's not a reflection on how well or how badly the player has done. The Chaser makes a lower offer. It is part of the game. It is up to the player if they want to accept it. It is not an insult. The more money in the pot, the bigger the minus offer will be. This is to discourage the player from taking it. If I was player four, and got £6,000 in the Cashbuilder, and there was already £30,000 in the pot, I know the lower offer is going to be a hefty minus. But I am not going to take it an insult.

The thing that winds me up (well not that much really ) is when contestants try to work out the answer and get it right for completely the wrong reason. Today's special was radio waves having the longest wavelength "because they go the furthest" .

I'm not bothered by that. It makes me laugh though.

Did Bradley really pronounce Van Gogh as Van Go? Most people pronounce it Van Goff or Van Goch, as in Loch. Most bizarre.

You think that's odd? Mr JOC pronounces 'aux' as 'ox'!

I've heard it pronounced all three ways.
I suppose what matters is how the man himself pronounced it.
Anyone here speak dutch?

My most annoying phrase is "you can do the big offer but take the middle one and come back here."

Well if they can do the big offer, why not take it?

Jawel, Uwe Majesteit, ik praat nederlands!

"Van Go" is the favoured American pronunciation, "Van Goff" has been normal in the UK up until recently.

Dutch pronunciation is "Van Choch", where the "ch" sounds like the "ch" in "loch".

Dank U!

If I was in charge of the show, instead of adding new chasers to refresh the show, I would just increase the final chase to 3 minutes, but get rid of the 4th player so the extra time obviously fits into the time allocated. In my head, it's an awesome idea lol, 20's would be the norm, 30's would be exciting. It's exciting just thinking about it!

And what was stupid about that answer?
Usually lower wavelengths do travel further.
I thought her answer was very good.

It was rubbish logic and completely wrong reasoning. She said that microwave ovens operate at close range and so do x-rays whereas radio is further away therefore radio waves have a longer wavelength, it was absolutely clear when you heard her that she knew absolutely nothing and arrived at the answer by accident though she probably went away thinking she'd worked it out.

Yes on Earth the longer wavelengths usually do tend to travel further but for reasons totally disconnected to her reasoning. Turn the question around and ask which had the lowest frequency and she would have been lost, she'd probably have said microwave as they "travel the shortest" in her (lack of) understanding.

If you can't see why her reasoning was way off then you understand nothing about electromagnetic radiation.

ITV may not want two shows headed by the same presenter on the same day.

Of course, they could get a new presenter but it would never be the same.

http://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-...h-Cash-Trapped”

It's complete media hype and a non-story. Staff are already being offered year long contracts so with recording and airing it's going to be around until the last quarter of 2017 or later.
