He just panicked when he got several questions wrong and the clock was running down.

For someone who didn't know about her "La Pasionaria" might sound Italian

Why did they not deserve to win? They got six pushbacks. That was the difference. Yes Paul got a lot more wrong that he normally would, but they've still got to get the pushbacks to punish him. If they'd only got two or three he'd probably have won.

OK it wasn't a big prize fund but I thought player 4 was correct to take the low offer to make sure she got back. They're playing for £2,500 each instead of £4,000, it's not a massive difference. If she gets knocked out player 2 will have next to no chance on her own. As is often the case for player 4, the middle offer was the worst option.

Player 4 was absolutely hopeless in her round and did next to nothing in the final. I would actually say the opposite and player 2 would have done better on her own due to not having to waste time buzzing/wondering if the other one knew the answer.

The contestants have a built in disadvantage in the final chase.
1) They have to press a buzzer.
2) The presenter then has to name them to answer the question.

This takes at least two seconds, meaning that they could lose 20 seconds or more.
The chaser does not have to press a buzzer and he/she does not have to be nominated.

To make it fair, the chaser should press a buzzer to indicate they have an answer and then the presenter should then say something like 'go ahead chaser'.

You're right. That's why some players do better when there's fewer players in the final chase, less waiting for other people to buzz in. They say the head start is supposed to make up for the time lost but in reality it doesn't, with 1 step only being about 3 or 4 seconds.

It couldn't have been 1902, Bradley. The Wright Brothers never took the first flight till 1903.

Has Jim been on another quiz show recently?
I seem to remember somebody wanting to take a wife called Isabel to see the Northern lights before.
