Fantastic comeback. Really unlucky team deserved the win for the Castro answer

You would only know that if you'd read them all.

So have you read and enjoyed any of her novels?

And reading great literature isn't something you need to do, but something you want to do, if you're so inclined.

Yes, well done Anne, despite dissing Jane Austen.

You are joking! Castro was always depicted with a large beard. It was a terrible miss by Anne.

Agree Stan, I immediately said Castro and couldn't believe Anne got it wrong.

Why did Bradley accept Las Angeles as a correct answer when Gill gave it??

Also GMB stands for Good Morning Britain not Good Morning Breakfast so why was that accept as a correct answer in the final Chase?

I wondered about that as well, I thought it was Good Morning Britain, not Breakfast. The subtitles definitely said breakfast. They shouldn't have got it for that (Ithink it was in the team's Final Chase).

Anne could also argue she was hard done by when she said "Covent Garden" for the home of the Royal Ballet and Bradley said it was The Royal Opera House. Well technically it is, but the building is also often referred to just as Covent Garden.

If I had been on the team tonight trying to get the pushback, it wouldn't have occurred to me to say the Royal Opera House for the answer, because I know that's at Covent Garden, and Bradley had said Anne's answer of Covent Garden was wrong.

I'd have probably said Sadler's Wells or something, and when Bradley said, "No, it's the Royal Opera House", I'd have thought, "Eh? But that's Covent Garden."

Maybe I was just hearing what I expected to hear but I heard Britain not Breakfast.

Having watched it again he did indeed say Britain. I had the subtitles on at the time which gave it as "breakfast" which maybe explains why I heard it as breakfast.

I notice the subtitles on the stv Player also give it as breakfast.

So any hard of hearing viewers are going to be wondering how he got a point for what looks like to them to be a wrong answer.

Hello there, I was Alex from today's episode

Can confirm I said "Britain" and not "Breakfast", my accent just tends to get a little muddled in recordings! Frankly I'm more surprised they accepted my pronunciation of Coronation Street.

Also, on the subject of "Goodluck Jonothan"; that was all sorts of unexcusable, my friend had been testing me on world leaders the night prior and that name just stuck out, so I blurted it out due to nerves!

Has the concept of film, theatre and television not reached your neck of the woods yet?
You're in for a treat!

Hi Alex, it's always good to get first hand comments on here about the experience of appearing on The Chase. You did really well making a refreshing change to see the youngster in the team showing a good breadth of knowledge.

Goodluck Jonathan did seem very random but fair play it was a legitimate guess and probably gave Gill the thinking time to remember Castro.

Very unlucky not to go away with £4K.

Wouldn't you have thought that the art of sub-titling would have been mastered by now? Especially on recorded shows.
They are RUBBISH - on ITV and BBC.

It's best not to keep things bottled up, Stanley.
I like to let it all out.

"Get back here"

WHY?

If he doesn't know much he should take the risk to ADD to the fund and sink or swim. Or at leas tgo for £0 he 'earned'.

Did The Beast just get the meaning of 'stipple' deliberately wrong because he wants this bozo to get back?
