Good score for a solo player..

She did well. Above all, she didn't hang about. I reckon Shaun will easily beat her though.

"The King Cobra is native to which continent?"

"Pass."

Have a guess, there's only about two or three it can be. It's not going to be Europe.

Not a bad score for a single player though.

It's so easy from one's armchair, isn't it?

Common. Which continent question is such a guessable instinctve answer.. It was either Asia or Africa pick one.

I have never claimed that going on The Chase and winning the money is easy, particularly if you're on your own in the Final Chase.

But there are some questions in the Final Chase that have only two or three possible answers and so are worth taking a moment to think and have a guess even if you don't know it, rather than just say pass. Passing is fine if you really have no idea and it isn't easily guessable. Two minutes is quite a long time, you can afford to lose a second thinking about guessable questions.

If I had been in her place, I doubt if I'd be able to tell Bradley what my name is. I'm sure my brain would freeze.

Don't put yourself down Lizzie. How far is your nearest vet?

At one point yesterday, I think during the final chase, the contestant was asked " 'That's no moon, that's a space station' [not sure what the exact wording is] is a quote from which film?" The contestant passed and Bradley gave the answer as 'Star Wars'.
As far as I know 'Star Wars' isn't a film any more than 'Earth' is a continent.

You'll miss me when I've gone, Stanley. You know you will.

Really? Not even the 1977 one with Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford?
I remember taking my sons to see that. They loved it but I fell asleep.

It seems maybe I should have researched before posting! I was under the impression that it was released as A New Hope, not just 'Star Wars'.

Though if I still wanted to be pedantic I could claim that the film is no longer known by that name...

Of course I will Lizzie.

I think the confusion is that it was originally called Star Wars, so Bradley was correct, but it was renamed in the 80's to add the subtitle Episode IV a New Hope.

That may be true but most people still just call it Star Wars

I'm in complete agreement with you.
It may be an age thing, those that were old enough to see it first time round still referring to it as Star Wars and those who came in later using the subtitle.

Well wonder what that film I watched in 1978 was then.

It was always Episode IV, though granted that wasn't part of the title. (Not sure if it is now either.)

You could be right, but I knew it as plain old Star Wars. I always thought that the name change came about when George Lucas realised that he could make a prequel and generate lots more cash for himself.

I thought that as well but apparently the subtitle was only added to the Crawl in 1981 (after Empire was released) when the original was re-released.

Quote:
“ 1981: Title change[edit]
Like in the other films in the series, the 1977 crawl begins to roll before the Star Wars logo dissolves. For the 1981 re-release, the crawl was modified, only beginning after the logo has dissolved; also, the subtitle Episode IV: A NEW HOPE was added to the crawl, one year after The Empire Strikes Back was released.”

It is referred to (and always has been) as Episode IV in the writing on screen at the start of the film which sets the scene.
