Old episodes of The Chase on Challenge (series 2 or 3) and I notice a couple of differences between then and now.
These days we don't get Bradley speeding up to "they're-playing-the-film-at-the-wrong-speed" levels when the Chaser is chasing a big target. And there are far less "we'll find out after the break"'s these days as well. |

They should have beaten him with those easy pushbacks.

Sheeeeesh. Paul got lucky there. Losing in the 10 to 14 range is probably one of the most soul-crushing things for a Chaser, thinking about it.
Unfortunate for the team though. |

Why does watching it on demand versus while it's been broadcasted feel different?

What do you mean exactly?
![]() When you're watching it live, you have to make a commitment to sitting there and watching it there and then, plus it can be a shared experience with other viewers, particularly nowadays with social media like Twitter and the Digital Spy forums. When you're watching it later, you can pause it, rewind it if you don't hear a bit, and you have nobody with which to share the experience. Indeed, you have to stay away from social media to avoid finding out the result in advance (unless it's a giant win, in which case ITV have plastered it all over the place anyway) I read neither Twitter nor Digital Spy between 5pm and the time I've finished watching the day's episode (and it's competing with other TV right now, hence why I'm posting this at 2.20am!) |

Well Shaun seems to be the easiest to beat. [...]
When contestants say that they'd like to be up against Mark or Anne I'm thinking "Are you mental or something?" These people are the ones who may not be the best "team players", as they may be there primarily for the personal challenge rather than to win the money, although if they fancy their chances against Mark & Anne, they'd probably be useful in the final chase. Plus, whilst all the chasers are always pretty confident about their chances, albeit without wanting to take anything for granted(!), Mark also seems to have more of a willingness to back himself by putting ITV's money where his mouth is. If you have a great cash builder, he'll throw down the gauntlet and challenge you to "come up and play" for a really serious amount of money - it'd be exhilarating to take up his challenge, although if I was standing there, I doubt I'd be brave enough! |

I guess it feels more "real" watching it when it's broadcast.

I don't get how you press the wrong button. There's only 3 to choose from and they're in order for crying out loud
