I thought he had it up to the Eddie the eagle answer and I actually think that should have been accepted as he is better known as that than he is Edwards!

It wasn't accepted as he said 'Eddie Eagles'. I think he was just trying to answer so quickly that he mucked it up.

But we all knew exactly who he meant. I believe that would have been accepted from a contestent in the cash builder so it really needs to be an even playing field whether it's building the cash or the final chase!

Bradley wouldn't accept Eddie Eagles in the final chase just like he didn't accept Hilary Mandel from the contestants today in the final chase.

Does that cost The Beast anything because he lost or just didn't like getting beaten ?

His name is Michael Edwards but is better known as Eddie the Eagle Edwards and not known at all as Eddie Eagles. There is a Chris Eagles who is ex-Man United now plying his trade with Accrington Stanley and he may have a brother/father/uncle who could be an Eddie Eagles. |

I remember, in a similarly tight final chase, Shaun Wallace gave an answer as 'Richard Dawkin' when it should have been, of course, 'Richard DawkinS', but on that occasion it was accepted (and he won by a second).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ0LcgD0aq8 (Go to 6:26) ![]() But in a fast-moving final chase it might have been difficult for Bradley to work out if the S was there or not. And completely different to tonight where Eddie the Eagle would probably have been accepted but Eddie Eagles is way wrong. Wonder what Mark would say if one of the contestants stormed out after , say, losing a final chase by a split second after just missing out on a push-back with a slight mispronunciation. Seriously, producers, you should look at replacing him with a new Chaser. Dick!! ![]()

Mark stormed off In one of the celebrity versions, the one with Ricky Tomlinson.
He had a little sulk and said he was going for his tea. It's called the wrath of the beast on youtube. |
