She's in the police? So that's hat hair from those big helmets?

But he didn't make it to the next round whereas the contestant who only earned £2k in the cash builder did get back. I'm not sure what that proves though..

I like her X-ray shirt. If the Tory cuts to NHS continue we'll all be getting one of them.

She's doing well. Meanwhile backstage the 'Brain of Britain' is probably trying to work out how to open the toilet cubicle door.

Certainly. I'd question whether those questions were selected specifically for that head to head.

They often do that to the very bright ones. And then on Celebrity Chase they often give them questions on their own subject area!

VERY well. I take it back about her hair. It's obviously to keep her brain warm.

Bit unfortunate how the Gala Bingo adverts portray Jenny and Shaun as jovial, energetic comedy characters, whereas the show's been spending ages trying to portray any Chaser as an intimidating figure of quizzing doom. (Shaun in particular having been Mr Grumpy for 8 years now),
An odd choice for the advertising campaign... |

Was Nigel actually Brain of Britain?
Also, anyone else seen the new break bumpers? They're a bit corny but I don't mind them. At least they're getting the Chasers involved in them for once. |

Aha - so it's not the contestants getting thicker, it's the questions getting harder!

Yeah, but they do also have different types of questions that vary in difficulty, I remember reading that somewhere, but not sure where. It's to make it manageable for the players, but I can sort of see it, when they ask easy questions that some people online get quite angry about being given to the chaser and such, whereas there are obviously longer and harder ones. I personally, have always taken the view that as the show goes along, I would imagine the qs become more obscure, but then again I've heard the same question in more than one show before. :]

It was hard for Brian, you sense that the producers put in the current media questions in purposely to try and trip him up.

As for 'current' media questions - the movie question was from 2003. And he correctly answered a 2004 pop music question in his cashbuilder, so he can't be too bad at pop culture. I didn't have a clue on the Mura/YouTube question either, but cat was the obvious answer for anyone who's ever used the internet. It's possible he thought it was too obvious, but he didn't seem to have any reasoning for choosing parrot. |

They have an adjudicator called Beyond Dispute so I'm pretty sure the questions will be random. They wouldn't be allowed to simply put questions in to deliberately try to get rid of a player
I'm always a bit suspicious at how frequently Chaser's specialist subjects crop up. Shaun will nearly always get a football question and law/legal terminology, Anne's shows feature a lot of questions about literature, Paul's shows always have a few about different parts of the body and Mark gets a lot of mathematics questions. Having an adjudicator might mean nothing more than ensuring the Qs are unseen by the chaser and contestant and to rule over disputed answers and if any timing issue occur e.g if an answer was before or after the buzzer. |

![]() P.S. I've voted for The Chase on Nationaltvawards.com. Have you? Thought Claire was very good yesterday - and the guy from Brain of Britain was "unlucky" to get 3 pop-culture questions - you could tell he was on much firmer ground with all the others. |
