Brilliant answer to win. Amazing what information the brain retains and you can just pluck out of obscurity.

I just looked it up. It was called the "Temeraire", but renamed "The Fighting Temeraire" because of the part it played in the battle, so I expect he would have taken either answer.

Extraordinary answer.

in addition, it's the subject of an iconic painting, of course.”

I see the fighting temeraire was tugged to death. What a way to go.

I don't think she knew the answer at all but had heard of the ship, or most likely the painting. It was a lucky but inspired guess and all credit to her.

Even if she haden't known the ships name, I think they still would have won seeing as Shaun gave his answer right on zero time left.

Just a nitpick, but although I don't know your source, I'm absolutely confident that she was never "renamed". "Fighting" was merely a soubriquet or nickname given by an admiring public at the time. She was HMS Temeraire until her ignoble end.

I expected Paul to lose this week since he usually has a loss after Shaun's. No longer a pattern anymore then.

Shaun- not so much "The Dark Destroyer" these days as "The Doddery Deliberator"!

This is where I took it from. This was the first source I looked at, and assumed the first para represented a formal renaming of the ship.

From other sources, you are obviously correct that it was never renamed, and Turner added the "Fighting"

In that case, Brad could easily have rejected the answer.

Incidentally, the day before Ann lost 61000 (in retrospect) by giving donkey rather than horse for the "animal a toreador ORIGINALLY rode" - probably confused by the use of "originally".

Quite a good week just gone two winners.

2 wins in one week and a win on a Friday. OMG! The world had gone mad!

Maybe the producers have been reading this thread and the accusations of predictability and have decided to shake things up a bit. Maybe the next team win will be A WEEK ON MONDAY!!!! (A whole week without a team win followed by a team win on a Monday.)

There was a time when you got no winners during a whole week at all.

Anyone watch the Challenge repeats?

Was wondering how many different episodes they show given the show is on 6 times a day every day where sunday has more.

The only thing is that Mon was a Bank Holiday, so everything was shifted by 1 day ?

Waiting to see in normal service resumed on Mon ...

Have the Family specials been on yet? Bradley Walsh said they were great fun to film especially the parts where they were getting their offers.

You asked that on Friday, and someone told you that she was on Monday. There have been no episodes since then so it's hardly surprising you still haven't seen her, is it?
