Olly the Wally, his general knowledge is pretty poor but well done for going for the £66k.
Can't see him getting through. |

Oh dear. He won't last long. No chance getting the 66 grand. Wow that was even quicker than I thought.

He asked for £66K, got it,and was brave enough to go for it.
It would have looked bad if he'd wimped out after getting the offer he asked for. |

Not a bad score, should have been more, 2 or 3 easy ones they passed on.

Think it would have been fez and the rest of the question would probably have been 'name with a city in Morocco' |

Maybe the question was "Which brimless hat was Tommy Cooper famous for wearing?" But I suppose we'll never know now. They played well but passed too many that were guessable. "So-and-so is a famous designer of what? " "Pass." You might as well guess something, there's not that many it can be. Clothes, shoes, er...what else springs to mind? It's not going to be tractors,is it? But I doubt they were that bothered. |

Didn't expect The Beast to lose that one. Gone are the days when you couldn't beat a Chaser with a score of less than 21.

If you're a really good quizzer, and you're in seat 4, and the first three have all been knocked out,you don't want to get a good score in the Cashbuilder. You'd want to get about two right. There would be no advantage to getting six or seven right, because as the last player,on your own,you should be going for the high offer,no matter what it is. But the worse your score is, the higher the high offer is likely to be.
Unfortunately if you're a really good quizzer, and they know that, it's highly unlikely they'll put you in seat 4. ![]() Good old Mark Knowles. He now has a fan club of three.

The seating order will be decided by a random draw.
![]() Actually I know somebody that was on The Chase a few months ago and he told me before they went on somebody came and told them what order they'd be sitting in. They didn't draw balls numbered one to four out of a bag or anything like that. |

I aplogise to iaindb for the extraneous appearance of a laughing smiley at the end of his quote in my post. I was not implying that the idea of a random draw was a joke. I deleted the second sentence of his post (which did have a laugh smiley at the end of it) but forgot to delete it as well. By the time I had noticed it was too late to change it.
Sorry about that. |

Will it? If that's the case, why is it that the young studenty types (as somebody described them earlier) are usually in seat 3 or 4? You hardly ever see them in seat 1. Seat 1's usually an older person,a steady type that gets about five or six in the Cashbuilder. The weakest player is hardly ever in seat 1.

I was on The Chase and I can confirm there was no draw to establish what seat you sit in. The production team makes that decision before you arrive.

Surprised by that as the order does seem random. I know they draw to decide the order on Pointless but, of course, there they're all answering the same question.
If it were truly random, the Cashbuilder totals for each of the four seats would average out the same in the long run. I doubt very much if that it the case. I reckon in about two shows out of three, the Cashbuilder total of seat 1 + seat 2 will beat seat 3 + seat 4. Every now and then you get somebody that only gets one or two right, or even none. I can't ever remember seeing a seat 1 player doing that. See my post above. |
