The most money offered to a contestant by The Chaser in the multiple choice chase round during the normal (non-celebrity) series is £80,000. This amount was offered on 2 January 2014 by Chaser Mark Labbett and again by chaser Anne on 15th December, 2015. The contestant with Anne accepted the offer and was caught by her after getting a few questions correct.

With the chaser Mark: The contestant accepted the offer, but was caught by The Chaser and therefore did not take it through.

£80,000 has been offered before.

Jimi Mistry was offered £92,000 on the celeb version on Saturday and won.

Nurofen are being investigated for bogus claims so will the same happen to Anadin who have a product for everything? It might get those awful ads off The Chase.

Maybe he was faking it and will storm this round.
When he got only one right, he was effectively left with no choice - he had to go high. Even his middle offer was no better than the £1,000 each that one of them will play for if he gets knocked out.

It would have been quite funny if he'd gone for the low offer of £100 - and got through. I wonder if Bradley would have tried to talk him out of it.

If he gets through he won't beat Anne.

If he doesn't, who should take her on?

I'm pretty sure he got £92,000 with the £ 500 coming from Gemma Atkinson

They won £100,500 in total including Gemmas £500. You are right, he was offered £92,000.

Has anyone ever beaten the chaser when all four are caught and the team are brought back for one last go?

Or do they just do it because otherwise the show would be 10 minutes too short!

I think the lone player might have won once or twice. But usually it's a relatively easy Chaser victory.

As you say probably the main reason they do it is to fill the remaining time up.

The one I don't get is, "period pain on date night."

She seems to live with that bloke and they've got two kids. They could be married.

So who's she going on a date with? You don't go on "dates" with your husband, do you?

Anyone who says "before my time" should be banned from quiz shows forever!
Especially for an episode of Porridge, that's never off the bloody telly.

That is because it is so much funnier than the so called 'comedies' of recent years.

I totally disagree.

If something was 'before your time' then you may not have come across it. It's a valid comment. Obviously not for history questions from centuries ago, but for popular culture etc it's a fair thing to say.

For example, my musical knowledge from 1992 onwards is almost encyclopedic, but before that time it's very average as I was either not born or too young to be aware. If you asked me who sang a random 1970s or 1980s song I probably wouldn't know because it is indeed 'before my time.'

I don't see why you think it's an unreasonable thing for contestants to say?

Date night is actually a thing - http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/de...ish/date-night I think it's a bit of a new trend; Tina Fey was in a recent comedy about it.

From what I understand, "date night" means, for want of a better phrase, "making an effort for your partner", like dropping of the kids round granny's, dressing nicely, etc, and going for a meal.

Not to mention it has Ibuprofen written on the bloody box! Why would you spend over £2 on those branded products when you could get a generic pack of Ibuprofen for about 30p!

The same applies with paracetamol, you can buy Anadin paracetamol for about £1.50, or own brand supermarket paracetamol for about 25p.

Thank you for that, I'd never heard of it. As you say it seems to be very much a new thing, or at least a new phrase, anyway.

Incidentally I am getting a bit worried about the amount of pills this pair are throwing down their throats. They must be going through packets and packets a week!
