Bit harsh - Mark's an incredibly knowledgeable person and formidable Chaser, (while not the best, that would be Anne), hence why they've nabbed him for both the American and Australian versions of the show. It's not like he hasn't gone some way to earn his reputation.

I didn't know the 1973 date but when Mark got it wrong with 1st April I thought the only obvious other answer had to 1st January.

Andy did ok but was never going to win. That's another win for Mark which improves his stats quoted above, which weren't looking too great.

The average target is very interesting and unsurprising.

In what way?

Seems to be only the very best teams who hit 20+ nowadays, most times it's 15-20, which makes the Chasers favourites.

Was it ever very different? To be honest I can't remember what they used to average in the earlier series but I do remember low scores as well as high ones.

That's not a very good guide to the difficulty because it's not the average that counts but the number of high scores they have to face.

The other thing to remember is that the target they face is partly due to themselves and how well they do in the head to head. I wonder what the statistics are for the head to head?

"That's the advantage of being a solo player. You can play at your own pace." says Mark (or something like that).

And then we see the DISADVANTAGE of being a solo player.

7 chances to push-back, ONE executed. How often do we see a team of 3 or 4 discussing the question, putting their ideas together and between them working out the correct answer.
