I don't think questions like that are good questions - there have been so many editions of even the standard UK version of the game. The colours of the banknotes differs, the colours of some of the property sets varies, the tokens are different, the houses/hotels differ (our ones are wooden!)

On the board I play with, "pink" is not the first colour that comes to mind for the Pall Mall/Whitehall/Northumberland Avenue set - "purple" is. At best, it's a sort of "dark shocking pink".

I agree, particularly with the last bit.

Or use a different question, such as "which utility square is next to Pall Mall [on a standard UK Monopoly board?"

On the subject of Monopoly, I once set a quiz with a friend of mine for a posh do.

We got free food, top nosh, and got paid as well.

We decided to put a Monopoly question in. Basically we just gave them an A4 sheet of a blank Monopoly board, and told them to fill in as many squares as they could in the right place. My friend had printed the sheets off and he had listed all the properties and the other squares at the bottom of the sheet.

I said, "Take that bit off, it'll make it too easy if you give them all the properties."
"No, we need to keep that in, make it a bit easier for them." So we did.

Now I'm a bit of a Monopoly anorak, starting at Go I can reel off the whole board from memory. So I thought giving them the answers would be too easy.

How wrong I was. The question was answered terribly. We had about six teams and the top score was about five. Half of them couldn't even place Free Parking and Jail in the right place, never mind know whether Oxford Street comes before or after Regent Street.

At the end, they said, "Great quiz - except for that Monopoly question.."

Yes was disappointed in Ant for that. Was more the tweet of someone who has 100 followers than however many hundred thousand they have

She probably hadn't even started university, most people's general knowledge isn't great at that age. I suppose she knew what she signed up for e.t.c e.t.c.

Wow, Hannah must have been bad to actually get an article. They need a new rule. Zero on the cashbuilder = instant catch by the Chaser i.e. you're out.”

I'm surprised that isn't already the ruling to be honest.

It's Paul.

Matthew seems to be a decent player.

That Lisbon answer looked like a deliberate error by Paul, doing his best to let Maggie through.

When I saw today's team it occurred to me that the last to play is young and therefore probably a weaker player.

Two things:
1) Am I being ageist?
2) Do they usually put a (likely) weaker player last so they can be tempted with a minus offer and keep discussion and controversy among viewers going?

Very impressive by Paul, unlucky team as poorer ones have gone home with the money.

Only 2 chances for the team to push him back. Paul was unbeatable.

Did I hear that right? In which capital city was Lily Allen born? Answer, Newport.

I'm afraid you did - such a random answer! One of those questions when the obvious guess was the right answer.

What is Newport the capital of anyway!?

It's not even the capital of it's county, being only 12 miles from Cardiff.

Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan is turning out to be a very poor Chaser indeed judging by her win/lose ratio.

An excellent suggestion but I'd still like the Chase to offer a minus at the table to see how much of a freeloader they are.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure there have been contestants who've won nothing on the cash builder but then go on to win on the final chase? An extra step in the final can (and does) make a difference in winning or losing.

That Hannah seems to be taking a lot of crap from people, she played the game and came out with £2666 so she can't be that stupid!

...and how would they fill the empty five minutes that would leave them with?

Stupid idea!

They already have that problem when they're all hopeless enough to be eliminated. If one, two, or three lose in the H2H, too bad. It's bye bye. But if they're all losers, they get another crack at it.

Watching old episodes of The Chase on Challenge, I notice a significant difference between earlier episodes and current ones. Namely, in earlier episodes, Bradley would speed up when the Chaser was chasing a high total and now he doesn't and the questions come at a steady rate.
