All the old people on this show are treated with respect, IMHO. Do they avoid some of the more offensive jibes? Quite possibly.

As for anything else, really? Do they get an extra free step? Do they get extra time? Do the Chasers and Bradley give them help to answer the questions? Do they get easier questions? (Perhaps - but only in the sense that they'll have first hand knowledge of a lot more 20th century history and will have had a lot more time to accumulate knowledge!)

70 isn't really all that old nowadays, either.

Just caught up with yesterday's episode, as exciting a final chase as I've seen. Although he blew it at the end The Beast made it gripping by getting so many answers right to take it to the wire.

£3000 is by far the worst choice mathematically, as she's moving one step closer to the Chaser for a likely potential gain of £500-£1000 max. However, some people aren't interested in the mathematics just don't want to consider the lower offer for non-mathematical reasons, such as moral reasons or fear of embarrassment.

She earned the right to make her own choice on her own terms for her own reasons.

She was caught two short eventually, so she ended up taking home 0% of 42000, instead of 25% of 43000 [*] ... if she'd got one more question right or had got the cubit right or had happened to know anything about women's skiing or had got the car question right. TBF, I did think she was unlucky with her guess on the car question, as she was right that Chris Evans is famously a car fanatic.

[*] so, effectively, she gambled £10750 to win an extra £500 - which is clearly total lunacy. Now she wasn't to know the pot built by the others would be quite so big, but even if it was only £16000, that would have still been gambling £4000 to win an extra £500. Conversely, you could say that without a little help from Vinnie Jones, she nearly cost the rest of the team £10750 each (her extra step for being there was very nearly all the difference between winning and losing.”

Spot on that.

Well played Oliver, only thing now is the other 3 will probably chip away at the total.

Is it uncommon for more than one player to go high and win decent amounts?
I don't remember it happening.

Yes. Usually only one player is brave enough and the others sponge off them. There have been cases of it happening but it's rare.

Why would an MP be taken hostage at the changing of the guard. Bimbo.

So she won't be dipping into Oliver's £30k.
Not much of a loss to the team though if the others are there.
