Brilliant score, this is one of the best teams ever.
Can't see Paul catching that. |

Paul has no chance, 26 must be one of the highest final chases.

Captain Hook = leader of the Lost Boys?
If you're not gonna say Peter Pan, Nibs is a fair(ish) guess because he plans the battles, but bloody Hook?! |

Paul knew he was beaten when he passed around the 1 minute mark with only 4 correct at that stage.
He probably felt like resigning but to be fair he stepped up a gear and answered quite a few very quickly but it was never going to be good enough. Really good team and well deserved their winnings. Paul has just tweeted that he needs an Anadin

That was brilliant, no one can deny on the teams part. Highest score since Series 5. Wow.
None of the other Chasers would have caught that either under the current question length and difficulty, but the Beast probably would have come the closest since he is the fastest. |

Painting toenails seemed like the obvious answer to me, goth make-up and all that.
If you do know then it would have helped with that question. However it did mention the silent era didn't it if I recall correctly, so I would have definitely ruled out bikini wax, and whatever the other option was which I can't remember. |

Wow 26. Is that the highest score ever? Oh Paul just answered my question. A team got 28 in series 5 who also beat him.
I thought Paul was never going to get past 3. Andrew was amazing. He could be a chaser.

I was seriously impressed with that team performance. 26 is the highest score I've ever witnessed on this programme since I started watching it a few years ago.
I just didn't expect them to be a team capable of that score. Andrew was very good, but he made a complete hash of his first question after taking the higher offer, and I thought that you simply can't make mistakes like that and get away with it. Then Joe was pretty good, but it seemed like a quiet performance which didn't make me sit up and take notice. Then the young girl at the end who appeared to be the weakest member. I thought she would be eliminated. But then in the final chase they all suddenly sprang to life. Andrew was just firing the answers out, mostly correctly. Joe appeared to significantly up his game and showed off his ability which wasn't as noticeable as before. And the girl really did seem to know a lot about pop music and certainly made a worthwhile difference with those occasional answers she picked off which Andrew and Joe didn't know, plus one or two pushbacks. When a chaser usually patronises contestants by saying that they are young so will know a lot about pop culture I always roll my eyeballs. But in this case it was a valid point. She didn't answer many questions but she answered the ones which the others couldn't which made her contribution worthwhile. Andrew and Joe though, they must have answered nearly all the questions available. |

Imagine how crap you'd feel if the team won and you were the one contestant who was eliminated.

What a massacre of Paul.
Which is often the approximate score which chasers tend to have to beat nowadays. It was quite funny though because Paul started off really well and was answering questions so quickly you couldn't hear what he said, then as soon as he couldn't answer one, the team got a pushback, and then another, and then Paul's score started going backwards. ![]() I thought for a moment they might push him back to zero again. You could tell though at about the time that he had around 30 seconds left on the clock that he'd given up the ghost. I worked out at the time he threw in the towel that to win he'd need to get a question right every two seconds, which would include the time taken for Bradley to ask the questions. |

I think the problem is that I'd hazard a guess that most people won't know who Pola Negri was.
If you do know then it would have helped with that question. However it did mention the silent era didn't it if I recall correctly, so I would have definitely ruled out bikini wax, and whatever the other option was which I can't remember. Tanning? Bikini Wax? in the early 1900's? |
