£50k up for grabs today but I don't think the team will be leaving with it.

Is it me or do the chasers give teams with low scores extra time to push them back on purpose?

I.E Pause for three second then give their answers?

Sean seems to try and make it exciting but I'm not sure if that's just me reading it wrong. Certainly if the target is low he often seems to take his time.

I know those are the rules but it seems extremely unfair that the woman who brought 49 grand to the table would (if the team had won) have had to split the total prize equally with the bloke who only got 1 grand

She was the one who told him to take the lower offer, then decided to go for the high offer herself. So not the least bit unfair - she knew exactly what she was doing.

That's what is called team work.

Really bad performance from Shaun in the final chase today, nothing to be proud of IMO. The team played badly too but I thought some of those questions were horrid! Certainly not 'just another day at the office' though, it was nearly a disaster!

If the target is low then the Chasers have time to think.

Watching old episodes on Challenge, Shaun is like a different person completely. The other day, the team got 25 and he nearly caught them on 23, answering each question quickly.

On something like today, with 12 to catch, I would find it far more entertaining if he caught them in about 40 seconds and everyone said 'Wow', rather than this attempt to drag it out. If he had lost £50k on 12 then the producers should have marched in and sacked him on the spot.

Did he drag it out, or was he really struggling that much? Having said that, Shaun is still one of my favourite chasers.

Why? They like it when the Chasers lose as it helps with viewing figures.

But it's better viewing for the team to win against a formidable chaser, than for a lame chaser not to be able to catch twelve...

He's not a lame chaser, he would normally get that target easily* but the fact he struggled made it more exiting which is what the producers want. Catching then just before the end was perfect but they wouldn't have been worried if the team had won.

I remember him catching 23 a couple of times, I don't know if he's gone higher.

Of course he should get that target easily - He's the chaser. Nothing below 18 should be considered in with a chance, but he consistently makes a meal of anything above 14.

He slows down when the score is low, we see that all the time so you do wonder if he does it deliberately. The fact is that he also catches high scores which shows he is not a "lame chaser" as you suggest.

He won the game, I don't think it's all that a big deal whether the game is dragged out with seconds to go, or done in half the time, so long as they win that's obviously the objective. Games are more exciting when there is suspense where the contestant are just a few seconds away from winning or the chasers win by the skin of their teeth like with Shaun's last game.

Mark won on Tuesday so I'm thinking it's going to be a team win today.

Yep, made intelligent guesses though which in the end paid off. You can usually tell a good guess if the chaser goes for the same wrong answer
