If the person answers football then according to your argument they have two chances of being correct either with football or American football, two totally different sports. Do you even know if the contestant meant football or American football?
All I can do is repeat the obvious which is when somebody in this country says football they mean football played with a round ball not the pointy ball which always has the qualifier. If there wasn't a much more popular sport in this country called football then there wouldn't be any need to qualify the answer and football would have been okay but there is - gridiron would have been a perfectly acceptable answer as there is no equivalent here. |

Actually I have a recollection that Bradley has accepted hockey as an answer instead of ice hockey! But apart from this, for whatever reason, you are completely ignoring the valid points I and others have raised, in particular the point that as "American" was in the question there was absolutely no need whatsoever to repeat the word in the answer
The reason to say (not repeat) "American football" is that it is necessary to specify the sport as football is a completely different sport to American football - they do play football in America as well as American football and even if they didn't the question can't assume this knowledge. It is probable (though we'll never know) that the contestant meant football anyway so to allow the wrong answer would be ridiculous. (They probably saw the F and thought "football" as the first answer that came to them). Bradley could have asked them to qualify their answer but that may have wasted more time especially if they weren't thinking American football anyway. |

Personally I agree with bobcar because they play both 'American Football' and 'Football' in the states. That is how we refer to the sports in this country and I would expect the answer to reflect that. I also agree with those that say Bradley could have asked for more.

I tried to post a picture of a tub of popcorn, but it wouldn't let me. Never mind.

I thought the question was which countries fleet was destroyed at the battle of Copenhagen? If so then France would not have been an unreasonable answer - albeit wrong.

Yeah, but that was made after the post I was replying to. (And you don't agree with him on the "more please" aspect!)
I think you must agree that the 'more please' is a significantly less important part of the argument. |

It doesn't matter what post you were replying to. The statement you made about nobody agreeing with him was made after I had already stated that I did agree with his main point.
I think you must agree that the 'more please' is a significantly less important part of the argument. |

Yes, but I didn't see your statement until after I'd replied to his. No I don't agree about the "more please" being significantly less important. I still don't think it was needed, but it would have been a lot better than not accepting a correct answer. It is also something Bradley has done on numerous occasions in the past so to not do it in this instance compounded his error even more.

-7k?
That's outrageous. If I was the guy who'd got the 33 I'd be furious. It makes ME mad & I'm not even playing. I think it's just cowardly & selfish. |

They shouldn't go on the show if they're not confident to go for their cashbuilder, To take money off another player who took the risk is shameful.
