Four in a Bed :: New Series (Part 4)
Continuation of: Four in a Bed :: New Series (Part 3)
Next week: The contest begins at Swallows Rest in Weymouth, Dorset, where hosts Jane and Keith Smith are pulling out all the stops to win. http://www.swallowsrestselfcatering.co.uk/ http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_R...t_England.html The contestants visit The Burley Inn in The New Forest, where newlyweds Darren and James welcome their guests, but are puzzled by some of the feedback they receive from Ray. http://www.newforestpubcompany.co.uk...he-burley-inn/ http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_R...e_England.html The contestants travel to Hotel Montville in Redditch, Worcestershire for the third day of the competition, where first impressions of Ray Chowdhury's unique style and decor are positive. However, room inspections leave Jane and Keith Smith threatening not to stay, and the guests grill their host about his business background at dinner. Although some light relief is given in the form of ice sculpting, breakfast disappoints James and Darren Kosa-Jones, and Ray must face the harsh reality of his guests' opinions at feedback. http://www.montvillehotel.co.uk/ http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaur...e_England.html The last visit is to Donna and David's Silverton B&B in Shrewsbury, where the complimentary earplugs soon have Darren and James worrying about the noise from the road outside. A Segway race helps whip up the guests' competitive spirit, Donna gets emotional when her work-life balance is questioned, and chef David proves he can handle the unexpected at breakfast. http://thesilverton.co.uk/ http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_R...e_England.html The owners meet for the last time to find out what they have been paid and settle some scores. Accusations fly around the table as payments are revealed and the winner announced. Swallows Rest is first up and hosts Jane and Keith want to find out about Ray's colour preferences. Next Darren and James of the Burley Inn quiz Ray over his fussiness around their pine furniture. When it comes to the Silverton, B&B team Donna and David take umbrage with Jane and Keith's comments. |

New thread eh?
***Runs fingers over the picture frames, shifts wardrobe to check for dodgy DVDs.*** Hmmm - only five types of tea, a tiny cobweb on the lampshade, two curly hairs beneath the mattress and a disappointing view of Reality TV threads. I can only give it 7 out of 10. |

Come on you lot, the flat pack won't assemble itself
![]() Thanks as usual for all the links and forewords ew. Sounds like there's plenty of potential with someone threatening not to stay and the old perennial the noisy road (even though ear plugs are supplied) I've been reading some of the reviews as well, the Montville sounds errr ... interesting. |

Yes, thanks ewoodie. I've also been reading the reviews and the Montville sounds as it it might be pleasingly bad. I look forward to seeing what its 'unique style and decor' actually means!

It's been a while since we've seen a couple quite as unpleasant as Mike and Karen. Either their reputation is unimportant to them because they are rich enough not to need the business - which is the image they attempted to portray - or they are remarkably stupid as well as charmless. So they bought a gatehouse with a few bedrooms and decided to go into business. Why?

I think someone said earlier on the thread that they don't actually own the lodge themselves, or they only own shares in it. Perhaps someone will remember better than I do what the situation is.
From that you can look at the company structure which shows that Karen and Mike are more recent shareholders and directors in the company along with two other men who have the same surname, one of whom is still a resident of South Africa. You can also follow a daisy chain for all the other companies of which a director is or has been a director, if they're still active, desolved or insolvent. It's a matter of public record and so are all the accounts for limited companies. You can see broad financials in the public domain and pay should you wish to download the actual filed documents held at Companies House. If anyone ever wants to do this then do use Companies House and not sites which resell the information at extra cost. I'm not that interested, so haven't done more than glimpse at what's on line. There are a series of property companies etc. including one company which was also posted about in the last thread. It arose from a report by Sir Michael Kerrie QC and Keith Carmichael and looked into the share structure and possible breaches of two sections of the Companies Act. It was raised in a Parliamentary Debate by Brian Sedgemore MP for Hackney, South and Shoreditch at the time. My only interest was for a quick glance to see if the people are really what they purport to be... |
