I think neither BG nor I had any idea what that post was about since it didn't seem to relate to anything anyone had said, or watched, and seemed to be posted in the wrong forum. That's all - nothing rude intended, just bafflement expressed.

I expect anyone staying there might have a thing or two to say about there being no ventilation unless you open the French doors, so Melinda has no right to criticise her room at Connie's while she offers the same.

I also can't believe the good reviews Melinda has on TA. Though there are a few comments such as she had a shower and didn't clean it out afterwards before the guest used it.

And it sounds as if her shower isn't perfect.

That first site makes it clear that she's turned a small sitting room into a bedroom, hence the French doors. That's not terribly appealing, especially as, though there is a nearby toilet, the shower is upstairs. It seems she is doing anything to maximise the earning potential of her house, though not doing any of it terrible well.

For what it's worth I personally don't appreciate it when contestants come on to these fan forums, including the groups on facebook, and 'set the record straight'. These shows are not 'reality' they are basically just fluff and entertainment and we fans discuss them, argue over them, laugh about them and generally enjoy them for what they are. When owners come on here and do the 'tell all' the idea of the show is basically spoiled. Who is ever going to watch and enjoy the show again knowing the producers are in the background telling the people what to say and do?

I understand these people feel they must say something to counter the flack we fans throw about them on these forums, but then again if they didn't go looking to read about themselves everywhere they'd be none the wiser.

For me, it depends. The ones I don't like are the friends like the one we had recently who had a completely different attitude to Manny.

I take your point

I just think hey, they took part in a production - willingly - helped to create the finished product and that they should leave it there. Once they start explaining and excusing this and that then it makes it rather pointless watching the show. They've every right to get involved in forum chats but, like I said, they give too much away most of the time.

I agree!

I genuinely didn't understand what the post was about. There was no malice intended. I was just confused

So that's 'Rooms' 3, 4 and 5 useing the shared bathroom so that's a potential 6/7 people useing it!

She keeps on mentioning how you can sleep on sofas for kids/young adults! So it's a Bed, Sofa and Breakfast

Also stop going on about "a full sky package" it's really not that important.

Good for those with a disability as long as they can manage stairs for full bathroom facilities.

You really couldn't make it up!

Interesting read on facebook group a friend posted me the conversation, the contestants are agreeing a lot of it is set up and manipulated and that some breakfasts dont get served until after 10am......being cooked 3 times..........

I'm not surprised that breakfast is served late - especially in larger properties which may have other guests staying who won't want to be inconvenienced by camera crews in the dining room. And I'm not surprised that the breakfasts are cooked several times... and no doubt there are delays leading to cold food... which then provides an opportunity for complaints.

I don't watch much reality tv - apart from SCD, Bakeoff and Sewing Bee + 4iaB - because I think it is contrived and fake. And I wouldn't watch 4iaB if I wasn't running a b&b because in contrast to the French version, 4iaB shows hardly any of the locality of each b&b which, coupled with the rooms, is the main reason I'd watch.

Unlike someone upthread who prefers to be left in ignorance of how the show manipulates the participants and situations, I think we should know. At least shows like CDWM and (presumably as I've not seen it) Coach Trip only affect the person's image / credibility if they turn out to be (in the edit) utter plonkers or plain bonkers. With a show like 4iaB, we can be manipulated into believing that someone's business and livelihood is far worse than portrayed on the day. As a viewer (with a personal interest or not) I do want to try and gauge to what extent the participants - and therefore we viewers - are being manipulated in the interest of entertainment.

Until the next time... <waves> and... have a good 2016.

The last Four In A Bed shown in Australia was The Roebuck which was a repeat and then it suddenly stopped. It looks like we are a year behind so I hope it comes back soon.

I love reading all your comments though it can be frustrating as I can't join in.Thanks for the good laughs though.

Those episodes were repeated yesterday and again today- I had never seen them before. What a nasty lot were they! Poor Liz and the first night's host. So much vitriol was thrown at them.

It's time to get hair hunting! Four in a Bed is back on the 4th of April at 5pm!

The competition kicks off at Shiralee Bed & Breakfast in Salisbury, run by Fay Lahiani and her partner Ray Cooper, where some guests are shocked by the colourful and cluttered decor, while the presence of CCTV cameras also causes concern.
